Vudu Food has been serving delicious Cajun/Creole soul food with a British twist at festivals for more than five years. Since the very beginning, we were being snapped up for weddings and corporate events and we have not looked back since. We have adapted our award-winning street food menu into an extensive buffet menu, including canapes and desserts for the perfect rustic wedding banquet. We slow

We were papped for the front page by whilst boarding up the store on Queens Road ahead of the proposed far-right riots. All of us on Queens Road were pretty nervous about what was going to go down, being that our Road was the target for the aggression.

In the end, the anti-fascist protesters outnumbered the far-right protesters by about ten to one, and all was safe on our street. Good old Brighton. We love our city and everyone in it.

Vudu Food are spreading themselves far and wide this weekend. We have our famous street food trailer up at the Pride campsite (if you know you know), and our store will be open with extended hours over on Queens Road, just down from the station. We will be serving from our handy side hatch for takeaway only. You'll be able to grab all your vudu favourites and cold drinks throughout the day to quench you whilst out on your adventures!!! 🌈🌈🌈

The weather is officially crap. But it's okay!! You can still enjoy Vudu Food in the warm and dry up at our store on Queens Road (just down from the station). Open from midday until 9 pm Monday-Thursdsy, and open midday until 10 pm Friday and Saturday. Sundays, we close at 8pm.

About us:

Vudu Food is a barbecue smokehouse and grill with a simple, yet well-executed menu. We pride ourselves on using good-quality ingredients to create vibrant, yet familiar dishes. Every dish is presented beautifully and with care. We started with a street food trailer and now also have a takeaway on Queens Road. You would be working between the shop and the trailer at different local events and pop ups.

About the role:

You would be required to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, safely, and hygienically. Prepare all dishes, ensuring all food items are stored, prepped, and served based on Vudu Food's recipes, preperation and portion standards. Ensure cooking to correct temps and plating as per guidance, to guarantee customer satisfaction. Maintain clean and proper working environment, keeping up with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules. Complete fridge temp and cooking temp records. Maintain adequate inventory levels and ordering stock as needed. Overseeing maintenance of kitchen and reporting any repairs required ASAP. Developing new dishes alongside FBO. Ensure guests receive excellent service. Taking care of delivery orders as well as in-house orders.

About you:

You have a level 3 food hygiene qualification (or have a level 2 and be willing to undertake this extra qualification through us). You work well with others and are passionate about food and about delivering great customer service. You can follow instructions but also have the ability and flexibility to problem solve.

Thank you, , for a lovely write-up in your March issue. It is a really lovely way to be welcomed to the BN1 area by being featured in one of the most long-standing publications in town.

Before social media (yes, we're that old), BN1 Magazine was the ONLY way to know what was going on at all the various clubs across Brighton each month. Everyone had a copy either stuffed into their bag, their pocket, or at home: their bible for what they would be doing that month.
