It’s been a year of transition for us here at Linden Plants and as a result our social media content has been a little quiet. I’m just catching up with some of our highlights over the summer and what we’ve been up to since we closed our Southwick shop back in February.

As well as continuing to trade at .cafe and having the pleasure of keeping the front of their cafe looking fabulous and seasonal, we were lucky enough to work on a few very special weddings.

Olivia and Josh were married at Upwaltham Barns in September. Lucy designed the bouquets to include beautiful late summer blooms in an array of colours, all gathered together in a relaxed yet luxurious style. We were so pleased to receive these gorgeous photos by of their day

An update on Christmas Wreath Workshops…

After closing our Southwick Square shop earlier this year, we have made the decision to take a year off from our Christmas Workshops in 2024.

We have absolutely loved hosting these classes over the years and it has been heart-warming to receive messages from so many of you asking if we are going ahead with any this Christmas.

We hope to be back next year with a limited amount of spaces but for anyone still wanting to make a wreath we are offering our incredibly popular DIY Wreath Kits via our Etsy shop. Who is lucky enough to have a table booked .cafe this month? Did you know their secret garden is now open for business and you can sit outside on sunny days (🤞🤞 there are plenty of those on the way) to enjoy their always-fabulous food and drinks menu whilst catching some rays.

We were called in this week to get the front of the restaurant looking summer-ready with a special request to match the colours of the doorway to the beautiful planters and hanging baskets that have just been refreshed. Every year the hanging baskets come into their own and it won’t be long now until they are in full show-off mode, cascading down the front of the building.

Had to get down there early this morning before the queue started forming at the door. So calm and relaxing to get stuck in and transform this entrance for another season as the sun was coming up over the surrounding buildings.

If you’re eating there in the next few weeks, we know you are going to love it and don’t forget to tag us in any photos you take out the front!

We’ve just had a restock of these stunning Calathea Makoyana plants. One of my all time favourites with such beautiful leaf markings, Calatheas can withstand relatively low light and their love for raised humidity make them an ideal choice for the bathroom. Just keep them away from drafts and heaters, water them regularly, don’t let the soil dry out and enjoy watching them grow 🌱

Happy Easter! This weekend we will be back in our old stomping ground of Southwick Square, not selling flowers this time but helping out with the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Pop along and say hello if you’re in the area. There’s a simple trail to follow around the shops which leads to a prize for every child. We also have a free craft activity and a facepainting from .face.painting to get your Easter holidays started in style.
If you’re in need of a spring bouquet then stop by our pop-up at to pick up something seasonal or browse our selection of dried flowers and plants.

Quite the different Mothers Day weekend for us this year. Usually we would be knee-deep in flowers, creating endless bouquets like a well-oiled machine, planning complicated delivery routes and grabbing mouthfuls of sugary snacks when we can between the phone ringing and serving customers. So, the fact that I’m still in my PJs and enjoying a (hot!) coffee at 10am on this Saturday morning feels a bit strange.

Now that we have closed the shop in Southwick and reduced our offering of fresh flowers things are a little different. We do still have a lovely selection of fresh flowers available at .cafe so if you are celebrating there this weekend perhaps you will be tempted, or make a special trip to pick some up at 8 Third Avenue, Hove.

I’ll be out delivering some Mothers Day plant orders this afternoon and then tomorrow I’ll be helping to deliver some of her gorgeous floral creations. So rather a slower pace for me this year and I must admit, I’m enjoying slightly lower stress levels than I have become accustomed to at this time of year!

Wishing the best of luck to all of my florist friends out there who will still be on that crazy treadmill and working non stop to fulfill those orders and spread love and joy on Mothers Day. Please do support your local florist if you can and remember to be kind if you’re popping into one of their shops this weekend. Many of them will have been working through the night and a little patience and a few kind words will go a long way, believe me!

Sending plants for Mothers Day? Get your orders to us by Wednesday 6th March to guarantee delivery before Sunday 10th. We ship our plants and pots UK-wide so wherever you are in the country, we can get something beautiful to you in time for Mothering Sunday.
All of our plants are carefully packaged, sent out using a next-day service and covered by our “happy plant guarantee” so if they aren’t in tip top condition when they arrive just let us know and we will arrange a replacement.

Today we found ourselves back up a ladder on a sunny, but very windy, morning in Brighton. We were thrilled to be asked to give the doorways of @gardencafebrighton a bit of a floral makeover and we’re so happy with how it turned out. If you don’t know The Garden Cafe then make sure give them a visit next time you’re in the area for excellent cakes, coffee, freshly made salads, quiches and more. And if you do know the Garden Cafe then you don’t need us to tell you how wonderful it is! Please note, in the voiceover I say they are in North Street when they are actually in North ROAD 🤦🏻‍♀️
