Congratulations to Alina Bzhezhinska and her Hip Harp Collective , who won ‘Jazz Ensemble of the Year’ at the prestigious Parliamentary Jazz Awards last night – a well-deserved recognition for an ensemble redefining boundaries in the UK jazz scene.

Alina and her Hip Harp Collective have been turning heads across the UK and beyond with a recent string of festival performances, and just last month, spotlighted her as a leading force in European jazz. Known for her innovative approach to the harp and captivating live performances, Alina is joined by British jazz stars like Tony Kofi, Jay Phelps, and Julie Walkington, as well as an array of international talent.

Welcome to the FMLY

Hailing from Surabaya, Indonesia, Thee Marloes bring a fresh and soulful sound that defies borders. This dynamic trio, led by the captivating vocals of Natassya Sianturi, blends the raw emotion of classic soul, the groove of lovers rock, and the timeless energy of jazz, all while adding their own unique twist.
With early influences ranging from American hip-hop to reggae, guitarist Raka and drummer Tommy Satwick first crafted their sound through a journey of live shows and DJ sets across Southeast Asia. But it was when Natassya joined them with her stunning voice and rich musical heritage that their sound truly took flight.

Their debut album Perak, out now on , is a celebration of this global soul movement. From the dancefloor-ready “Midnight Hotline” to the deeply personal “Beri Cinta Waktu,” their music transcends language, making it a universal experience for listeners around the world.

La Sécurité brings a distinctive edge to art punk with their blend of jumpy beats, off-kilter arrangements, and minimalistic melodic hooks. Their music, designed for the dancefloor, is full of energy and unpredictability; celebrating autonomy, friendship, and benevolence.

Their debut album, Stay Safe!, released in June 2023 via Mothland, has been described by BrooklynVegan as “an enticing batch of party-friendly jams shouted in sneering Franglais,” drawing comparisons to Le Tigre, Neu!, and Duchess Says.

Bedford-born producer & DJ Sam Girling is fast becoming a breakout name in electronic music. Blurring the lines between euphoria and emotion, his tracks are designed with one place in mind—the dance floor. With recent support from heavyweights like Young Marco, Palms Trax, and DJ HEARTSTRING, 2024 is shaping up to be his year.
Sam’s viral hit Ankerklause (Is The Feeling Only Strong?), crowned a Future Dance Track ID on BBC Radio 1, marked the turning point in his career, earning over a million streams and cementing his place in the electronic scene. But it doesn’t stop there—his own DIY party series, Club Attacca, has taken off, bringing the heat from his hometown of Bedford to London and Liverpool.

Born from the afterhours parties of Montreal and New Orleans, deBasement is comprised of Alli Logout, iconic vocalist of the critically acclaimed punk outfit Special Interest, and Margo XS, an esteemed DJ and highly in-demand producer who collaborates with pop stars such as Zara Larsson and Kim Petras, and underground darlings like Ayesha Erotica and Mowalola.

Blasting onto the scene with their double single debut ‘FRONT LEFT SPEAKER / FTDJ (Thank God); deBasement are captivating listeners with their futuristic production, punk confrontation and undeniable vocal hooks. Deeply inspired by and uplifting their FLINTA* community, deBasement is rewriting the rules of LA’s DIY q***r rave scene with their explosive live sets, and has already supported acts like Model Actriz, Hannah Diamond, and Marie Davidson (who will feature on their debut EP out January 2025). Known for their unique blend of Anatolian folk, psychedelia, pop, and soul, the band has been making waves since 2014 with two albums and an EP, touring across Europe.

Led by Hamburg-born singer and bağlama player Derya Yıldırım, who sings exclusively in Turkish, the group also includes Graham Mushnik (organ/synth), Antonin Voyant (guitar/flute), and Helen Wells (drums). The Bristol quartet are soon to release their third album ‘Langzamer’, which stands tall as their most restrained, mature, and sincere album to date. Rich with wry reflections on life and loss, Langzamer jumps between buoyant pop singalongs and mournful folk balladry, propelled throughout by dexterous, infectious melodies.

Prodigiously gigging over the last three years, the Bristol quartet have played sold-out rooms across the UK and Europe, as well as playing support slots for Mystery Jets, Jeffrey Lewis, Juan Waters, Ratboys, Willie J Healey, Fenne Lily, and Opus Kink.

Los Angeles based musician Charles Moothart (Fuzz, Goggs, Freedom Band) released previous solo work under the moniker CFM. Now working under his full name, Moothart’s latest album Black Holes Don’t Choke (out now on ) is made up of “love songs for the apocalypse.” Heavy riffs alternating with spacious tunes, and a live set that vacillates from fast and loose to groovy and heady. Moothart is now touring with a live band comprised of 4 veterans of the Los Angeles music scene with too many credentials to list. This lineup brings a new sense of dynamic while holding on to grit and drive. All of these factors crack open a new chapter for the Californian multi-instrumentalist.
