Last night at Base was beautiful. We raised £133 for Base and paid artists for their travel and time. Thanks to everyone who came through and connected.

With this week's sad news about The Moon in Cardiff closing and London's Moth Club being at risk from developers, it felt even more pertinent to hold the event in a truly unique, DIY space. Base is not a music venue but it is a community space for radical thinkers and leftwing people in Bristol and beyond, and we need to support it to ensure it can stay open. There are weekly groups and workshops to get involved in, plus the weekly vegan PAYF cafe via BASE Cafe which always serves delicious wholefood and always needs volunteers to cook and host 💚

Community is key. People are all we have. Keep fighting the good fight 🏴✨️

P.s. the room was so full for Simon White's opening set that I couldn't get in through the door to take a photo of Simon even from the side of the room (result), so that's why he isn't in these photos. If anyone took photos of Simon or the other sets we'd love to see 👌

Calling Punk Women!

Sat, Nov 30 • 12:00 till 16:00

A workshop for punk women exploring age, gender and identity - link in bio.

This workshop is for any woman who identifies as/with punk, 18+ years old.

Led by Dr Laura Way, from Roehampton University, we'll explore identity as punk women in a creative space to gather authentic insights about ageing and gender, rather than relying on what we’re often told. This might challenge some ‘normative’ thinking about what it means to age as a woman, which tends to be quite negative.

Ultimately, the aim of the workshop is to make a 'creative installation(s)’ about what is discovered, which might sound a bit daunting, but please don't worry. No artistic/creative/practical ability or skills required (promise) and hopefully you'll have fun in the process.

The creative installation(s) with its accompanying story will then be on display at Rockaway.

This workshop is free to attend but places are limited so please register!
