It’s Twelfth Night tonight and traditionally the date when all Christmas decorations should be removed so as not to bring bad luck. Some say that if decorations are not removed on Twelfth Night they should stay up all year! ✨Our amazing crews have been busily taking down our Christmas installations from around the UK over the past few weeks. Some of our installations have been so well received that they’d stay all year, if only they could! One of these is the Enchanted Glow Tree at Marwell Wildlife which was commissioned as part of #glowmarwell winter light trail which has enthralled thousands over the past few winter weeks. 🌟 Design, construction, lighting, sound creation, programming, and installation were all delivered in-house at @Bakehouse Factory, and we have loved every minute of the magical journey.#MarwellZoo #christmaslighttrail #lightshow #lighttrail #lightinstallation

We created pockets of surprise and delight with a vibrant programme of activity based around a circus showtime theme. With a talented suite of acrobats, stilt walkers, and many more impressive acts, visitors have loved posing with the sparkle of an LED selfie frame and taking a chance on a Spin to Win wheel to be in with the chance of winning some amazing prizes in exchange for a donation to their partner charity. 🎁

Our elves work is almost complete at the Festive Fun Factory County Mall Shopping Centre
We like to make sure that EVERYONE gets a chance to enjoy the experiences we create, and always try to include sessions for people with different sensory needs.
Our client @velocityww and County Mall Crawley really wanted to ensure the event was accessible and we were delighted to include sessions designed for families with SEN children, whose sensory needs are not always met by traditional grottos. Feedback from these sessions has been great!
The grotto at the County Mall is part ‘always-on’ installation and part manned.

Spectacular barge entrance for Santa at Paddington Central, London
When BritishLand asked us to make sure Santa arrived into Paddington Central in style, Bakehouse delivered!
This year was more theatrical than ever with a cast of 15 characters accompanying Santa, who arrived by The Electric Barge to greet nearly 200 excited school children and refugee families.
The children were treated to a feast in the beautifully festive @pergolapaddington and then became the stars of a specially-devised show all about the true spirit of Christmas.
What did we do?
+Devised a special interactive show that translated readily across language barriers
+Provided and multi-talented cast of actors and musicians
+Made beautiful hand-crafted costumes
+Project managed and event managed the day
+Saved Christmas (with the help of 200 kids and a Magic Monitor)!

Christmas with Paddington has been designed and created on license exclusively for Cribbs by Bakehouse. Each element has been lovingly crafted by a team of artisan makers, scenic designers, script writers and costumiers.
During the experience, visitors travel through snowy festive trees and street scenes, including an interactive doll’s house and Paddington’s famous attic window. They get to tiptoe across the Christmas night-time rooftops, before being transported (down the chimney of course) to the hallway of the Browns’ house to meet Paddington himself. After pausing for a photo with this ‘very rare sort of bear’, families are guided in individual family groups to meet Santa in the armchair of the Browns’ cosy lounge.
With lively and charming elf characters to meet, enchanting interactive scenes, and plenty of special photo opportunities along the way, Christmas with Paddington is a must-see attraction for families looking for sumptuous, traditional, festive magic this year.
Our magical traditional grotto experience is open every weekend from November 13th, and every day in December until the 24th Dec 2021.

Creative Director Hannah's message of thanks to Arts Council England
Hannah McGavin, Creative Director at Bakehouse Factory, has given a personal message of thanks to Arts Council England, as we learn that we are among 925 recipients to benefit from the latest round of awards from the Culture Recovery Fund.
More than £100 million has been awarded to hundreds of cultural organisations across the country including Bakehouse in the latest round of support from the Culture Recovery Fund, the Culture Secretary announced today.
The third round of funding will support organisations from all corners of the sector as they deal with ongoing reopening challenges, ensuring they can thrive in better times ahead.
Darren Henley, Chief Executive, Arts Council England, said:
“This continued investment from the Government on an unprecedented scale means our theatres, galleries, music venues, museums and arts centres can carry on playing their part in bringing visitors back to our high streets, helping to drive economic growth, boosting community pride and promoting good health. It’s a massive vote of confidence in the role our cultural organisations play in helping us all to lead happier lives”.
