It was such a pleasure to organise the long awaited event with .pirathapan - Winner 2024 ✨- back in November

He indulged guests to a 5 course meal extravaganza including the must have sambal crusted rack of lamb and a char siu pork accompanied with

30 guests were then treated to acoustic sets from the heartfelt folk sounds of and 🎶

We caught up with Joely ahead of the event to hear about what sparks her creativity and her favourite career highlight so far 🎶🎪

Joely’s music belongs in the modern folk world, breathing fresh air into the genre. Her passion lies at the core of honest and meaningful songwriting, telling a powerful story with each song.

We are really excited to have Henry playing for our guests on 15th November after the meal from .pirathapan 🍽️

We caught up with Henry ahead of the event to hear about what sparks his creativity and his favourite musical spots in Bristol 🎶

Know for his masterful fingerpicking, his soulful voice, and his original folky style, Henry will be playing and singing his own songs as well as including the occasional cover and traditional ballad ✨

We sent over a few questions ahead of our event with chef Ed Barrow at on Thursday 29th August to go behind the scenes with a pivotal player in the pasta scene!

Ed created The Monday Pasta Club from a hobby that turned into a passion and now an expertise! The event date also marks the official release of his first cookbook under The Monday Pasta Club name, and we are extremely lucky to have him share the day with us ✨

The evening will be finished off with performances from guitarist and harmony perfectionists

Absolutely love this quote and the feelings it’s brings up when thinking about how the chefs and artists move us with their craft. How special it is to be sharing their beautiful stories of the ordinary through heartfelt lyrics and delicious, personal dishes.

‘We believe that creating a sustainable society is about weaving change into people’s day to day lives. What we do is accessible and affordable to local people, which makes it an easier choice for people to make. At RCG we are striving to find a balance of using products, materials and processes which are ethical, sustainable, affordable, healthy and local. That is a long list of desires and sometimes we need to compromise but it’s a great starting point!

When it comes to produce, we are finding this balance can be achieved through growing our own and either simply selling it straight out of the ground, or in a soup or chilli. Our shop sells our fruit and vegetables which is grown on site as well as other food products, such as honey made from our resident bees. We also operate a non-single use plastic approach and customers are encouraged to BYO or invest in a bag for life (or just carry it!)

We are a supporter of the closed loop (or circular economy) approach – our coffee cups and other tableware are compostable. Some of our customers love this as it fits well with their life choices, other don’t even notice and are only interested in a great (ethical) cup of coffee, but the outcome is the same.
Education is key to successfully meeting the aims that are central to RCG. We have over 150 children visit weekly from local pre-schools and schools, who love to get involved in growing and harvesting and learning about how, where and when things grow.

Running the Garden can be challenging. However, we are constantly overwhelmed by support from our community and details of what coming to RCG means to them, whether it’s allowing a frazzled parent to have a cuppa, volunteers who have found a home for their skills or learnt a new one or simply visitors wondering around the veg’.

It was an honour to host the Christmas party for in the wonderful back in December 🎄

Brin Pirathapan X Buskers’ Banquet We had the pleasure of hosting the @masterchefuk 2024 Winner @brin.pirathapan in November at @starlings_bristol 🧑‍🍳 We are so blessed in Bristol with amazing culinary talent and this event was particularly exciting as Brin has put Bristol even more clearly on the map as a hotspot for budding chefs with incredible creativity. Brin delivered a 5 course meal, taking us through his favourite dishes, inspirations and techniques which showed guests exactly why he was crowned as Masterchef Winner in 2024 ✨ @showeringscider were kind enough to supply their delicious cider to pair with Brin’s Char Siu pork dish The evening was topped off with music from Bristol based musicians @joelyjune & @henryaylingguitarist. Joely June has proved herself in the Bristol scene and beyond as a devoted artist of her craft - bringing honest and meaningful songwriting to her fresh take on the modern folk genre. Henry Ayling drew us all in with his masterful finger style acoustic guitar playing, breathing new life into traditional folk ballads as well as a soulful voice to take his original folky style to new heights ✨ @brasshandstudios have brilliantly captured the intimate atmosphere of that special night in the Buskers’ Banquet calendar.
