We are heading into wedding season big time this month starting next week so here is a little flash back to this gorgeous festival inspired bouquet for Amy at @theoldspot this time last year when May felt like Summer.

It’s apple blossom time! We have stems between 1m and 2m (and a few shorties perfect for bouquets) so florists get in touch if you’d like some this week.

I love daffodils. But there’s a sad assumption that they should cost pennies because well, they can be bought in a supermarket for pennies. Our daffodils are grown without pesticides. A choice we feel very strongly about- our planet cannot sustain humanity’s level of consumption at all costs and so we must take steps to produce in a sustainable way. For us, this means accepting that some of our beautiful daffs will be a tasty treat for the slugs which in turn become a tasty treat for the toads, birds and hedgehogs. It also means they’re slower to harvest. We grow on a very small scale to those that supply supermarkets. We can’t compete with their race to lowest price but neither do we want to. We’re glad that our farm is filling people’s homes with flowers whilst sustaining local wildlife.
Is this something you feel strongly about too?

Top tip for spring bunches with daffs in…
Daffs leak a sap from freshly cut stems that make other flowers go over more quickly. So if you get a bunch with daffs in- don’t recut the stems. Or if you do, put them in a separate vase of water for a couple of hours to allow the sap to dissipate and then put the daffs back into the bunch.

Happy first birthday to our beloved polytunnel!! More than just a covered space for growing tender plants, we start our seedlings off here, host workshops and flowers and tea for two, hide from the rain, soak of the snippets of sun at the beginning and end of the season, enjoy multiple cups of tea. We love it and so do our star crops that we grow in it- poppies, orlaya, phlox, rudbeckia and many more!
I meant to do this reel last year. Better late than never.

Our Everlasting Posies are unique.
They are unique because they don’t cost the literal Earth. Each stem has been grown by us in our field, with no pesticides, and then naturally dried. We never use dyes to colour our flowers, they don’t need it. And so what you have is a beautiful gift that doesn’t compromise on integrity.
They are gorgeous, indulgent and decadent and they are good for the planet.
You should buy one. Which colour do you love?
