Whoooo! We survived our first pop-up .🎉
We've made it out the other side, a little tired and jaded but feeling so greatful for such a brilliant weekend.
The biggest thanks to all of our friends and family who made it down and big love all of our new friends and supporters of the scradit who showed up to sample our Japanese & Korean inspired menu 🖤
Special shout out to Josh & Lucia, you absolute legends. Thank you for welcoming us into your space, spreading the good vibes and supporting so many small businesses!! ✌️❤️

We'll be back in June for round 2.. A Barbecue inspired menu. Cooking outside over fire and we will be spinning some tunes 🙌😈

We've been in the kitchen disco prepping all day and we're ready to rock the weekend away 🥳

Come down from 5.30.. & get to know one of our favourites on the menu, this Horishima Okonomyaki, served with Yakiudon, pork belly or oyster mushrooms and all the trimmings - naughty comfort goodness 🤤

We bring our soul into everything we do and see the bar or kitchen at any event to be a continuation of the enjoyment and celebration around it. You can count on us to bring Twisted love and good vibes each and every time and we couldn't do it without our team of legends ! 💥

We ❤️ Kimchi.
This batch is almost ready for our pop-up and it's SPICYYY!
We're buzzing to get in the kitchen and work with the scradit team.
Our menu for the pop-up is inspired by all of our love for asian food and Henry's trip to Japan & Korea last year.
And a lot was learnt from our friends when Henry was working there. Big shout out to them, the true kimchi masters 🌶️❤️🙏

This photo was taken a couple of hours into our wedding day during a quick toilet break from the action.
My lovely mate offered me some socks that she had for the next day but I thought it was more hassle to take my boots back off! The boots that I had every intention to re-spray and make beautiful but I just ran out of time!
I'm sure to most people the thought of wondering around with a hole in their sock and scruffy boots on their wedding day would make them feel a little sick.. But I was having too much fun to care (plus it probably is totally in character!) 😅😂
Weddings don't have to be perfect, they just have to be authentic and special to you and your people ❤️

We've changed our name for continuity as blacksands is technically no more.. however the same team is at the helm of Twisted Spirits with Henry stepping in as Head Chef and Penny taking more of a cameo roll but she is still our chief pudding queen!
We're a mobile buisness, specialising in private parties and weddings but will be throwing pop-up events throughout the year between Bristol and Ilfracombe 🖤🖤

Lets talk about last weekend!!
🌦️
We knew it was a risk planning an event in the British summer but as a team we really wanted to do something different and fun so we put time and effort into planning our twisted lunch, over looking the bristol channel up at the little meadows campsite, hoping the summer weather would turn up for us! 🙌🎉
We paid for our pitch, ordered trestle tables and benches and sorted a larger sound system, 2 full days of prep and had it all ready to go.. so when we woke up in the morning and the forcast had turned to rain for the day obviously we were gutted... but the show must go on, we had 70 covers booked in, so we jumped in the van to get everything back and set about making our restaurant blacksands into our party spot!
Luckily yhefor us we have the best crew who are always positive and make magic happen, so within no time we were ready to welcome all our wonderful guests!
So this is just a big thank you to everyone who showed up for us, from everyone booked in who didnt cancel to all of our party people.. We love you all!
Another big thank you to everyone who supports us from a far, liking, sharing and spreading the love 👀😎
It costs a lot to get everything down to Ilfracombe from bristol and the margins are super tight. We didn't make any money on this event but it's not always about how much you make, we learnt a lot and had fun in one of our favourite places with the best people!!
A big special shout out to P&G who let us gatecrash the house/gallery and turn it back into a restaurant for one last time ❤️

We couldn't appreciate our twisted team more if we tried. Anyone who has spent a moment in the hospitality industry will understand how instrumental an amazing team around you is, not just the success of an event but the enjoyment of it , and we absolutely love working the weekend away with a team of friends and legends ! We can feel the Bank Holiday weekend calling us! We are back in North Devon for a bigger, better and more tassly affair, August Bank Holiday!! We're taking the twisted spirits setup up to @little_meadow_campsite for food with a view 👌 The gorgeous location is just over the hill at watermouth and due to the intimate site we will be running a no car policy, luckily its a lovely walk from the coombe! It will be a one sitting late lunch affair, a vibrant middle eastern inspired 3 course menu and cocktails cocktails cocktails. 🍸 We will be upping our music game with a larger sound system and a wicked dj to get us all into the groove 😎 Save the date lovers, save your spot and come and party twisted spirits style. Big, special shout-out to @aitchellepea 🤩 who gifted us the most beautiful tassel bunting and giant pom-pom and helped decorate Blacksands and turn it into a colourful, maximalist dream!
