Let’s talk pricing.
Now, people tend to see ‘hand made’ and automatically think ‘cheap’.
When in reality... it means the complete opposite.
This is where I show you why.
Take ‘Faith’ for example.
A fully stuffed, completely handmade 45cm head to toe toy/keepsake.
In total just the actual ‘making’ process takes around 13 hours per sheep. Minimum.
Not to mention trips to source materials.
All seperatly made are,
*head
*hat
*2 sides of each ear
*strings and bobbles for the hat
*body
*x2 feet
*x2 hands
*x2 legs
*x2 arms
*x2 cheeks
*muzzle/nose
She takes around 800g of good quality yarn, a pair of safety eyes and an additional 2 colours of cotton/yarn and half a kg of top grade stuffing...to make the finished product.
If I were to charge by even just minimum wage for 13 hours of time that would be just over £115 !!!!
And that’s before adding in materials and skill.
I crochet not only to supplement my income to provide for my kids, but because I LOVE the whole process of making and then watching customers receive their items with so much love and joy!!
The messages I receive are amazing 🥰
In these trying times please support your local and/or handmade producers ... I guarantee anything handmade is made with love and as much scrutiny as if the makers were buying that item themselves.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who orders, likes and shares ... it all means the world!!
