Hello! I’m Lucie - a little bit an about me and some random facts. I live in Wales in a very colourful home 🏠 🌈. I have a degree in illustration and started my live booth back in 2019. ▪️I can’t cut bread straight
◾️I have been known to mow the lawn with just flip-flops on. I think this describes me as a risk taker. ▪️I love ironing, it relaxes me, whilst having the satisfaction of having a pile of reward at the end.

I genuinely can’t get enough of Melissa’s SHOW. Which is why I’ve signed up to my 3rd one this year! Next stop Brizzzel. I have my 11 year old booth babe at the ready to help get you in and out of my BOOTH. I offer one free portrait per group. (That’s the hardest sell I can do 🫶😉) I still have dates for 2024 available to couples getting married. How about coming down to the show and saying 👋 hi? The role I have calved out for myself in my 3 minutes Portrait Booth is a bit like speed dating …😅 I can meet up to 70 people an evening and have 3 minutes conversations with all of them. I am well versed in good convo, plus I’m not a fan of small chat, I like to dive straight into the good stuff.

I’m a live portrait artist, and here’s why I do what I do. As a dyslexic, info retention is a challenge, so I thrive on impromptu moments – that spontaneous energy, you know? Connecting with people, feeling their vibes, and translating it into art is my thing. It’s like artistic speed dating, and I absolutely love the thrill of drawing while chatting with you. Studying art and communication has blended perfectly in my business, making each portrait a unique expression of the awesome connections we make.

A crazy, busy, fantastic year which came to a blunt holt in early 2020. I will create a new updated version of my story soon. It’s me 🗝️ the “lady in that box, that draws you” I’ve welcomed this quiet month. It’s okay to slow down and REALLY look after yourself isn’t it - Lucie ☺️ telling myself. I’ve always been “busy” since I was a toddler. Looking forward to a little holiday in the ☀️ with my daughter in next few weeks! Feel very lucky indeed.

I don’t draw caricatures! I am not that skilled! Plus I am not one to offend. I draw nice black and white 3 minute ink drawings of people’s portraits which they can keep forever 🤩 a picture, Dictionary definition- Description, or imitation of a person in which certain striking characteristics are exaggerated in order to create a comic or grotesque effect.

I don’t JUST do weddings! I am launching a new sister company! Called The Portrait Booth, which will be ace for your company’s work party, away day! It’s going to offer quite a bot more than Rubbish Portrait. Watch this space and my new face 😉

At the beginning of my journey with Rubbish Portraits, I quite quickly wanted to launch a fleet portrait booths. Understanding I had a really unique idea, I wanted to franchise it, collaborate with other artists and make more or a passive income. Then I calmed down..(plus a pandemic happened) and I realised that there’s only one me. I have a fantastic USP, and is niche *AF. Niche is fabulous and I love calling my business just that. Franchising my business would have meant managing people..(which I think is the hardest job in the world by way). I wouldn’t have been at my happiest, plus the less people in a business the quicker decisions get made. I’m a very quick decision maker my artwork is speedy and I don’t hang around. I am impatient and used to think that that was a bad thing! Some of my top selling artwork have been made very quickly indeed. I have two sets of artwork soon for me realised with IKEA worldwide which were all produced with speed. Turns out I already make a passive income!
