A week that included our flowers being presented to Lesley Garrett at the concert in Iron Acton, the dahlias made their entrance, we started drying flowers and seed heads, and we held our third hand-tied bouquet making workshop. We’re also pleased to be increasing the volume of our organic, British flowers to Flowervision - Bristol Ltd as the flowers shift into gear. June. What a month, it started with British Flowers Week and ended with workshops and group visits.
On a very warm afternoon we were back at the lovely Acton Court for bouquet making, a glass of fizz and canapés, finishing off with a tour of the garden.
A whole day of workshops which included making a Hand-tied bouquet and a very popular Meadow Box arrangement workshop, a new date will be going on the website for a rerun in the Autumn.
We had the pleasure of welcoming two flower clubs, 53 members of Devizes Flower Club joined us for a tour of our Flower Farm and a bouquet making demonstration, plus the all important tea and cake!

Celebrating Flowers From The Farm British Flowers Week, a week full of beautiful British Flowers grown on our organic flower farm in South Gloucestershire.
Deliveries to Flowervision - Bristol Ltd who have spent the week promoting British Flowers and included an early morning cream tea!
Flowers and plants all grown and packed by our trainees went to Abel & Cole and Acton Court, a real team effort at such a busy time.
It was lovely to spend the afternoon with our flower club who created meadow boxes and decorated our vintage cart, the first meet up of 2024 so lots of catching up.
And now the flower season really begins, we have workshops and group visits coming up, places are still available on some of the workshops if you fancy joining us, bouquets and buckets of flowers can be ordered online for collection. And finally our ever popular open day....date is coming soon!

Today sees the start of British Flowers Week, an annual event started in 2013 by New Covent Garden Market to promote and celebrate the British cut flower industry, including growers, florists and wholesalers. It has now been handed over to Flowers From The Farm to manage, a membership organisation of over a thousand small scale flower growers and florists, an organisation that we, Jo Wright and Wendy Paul are currently co-chairs.
We delighted to be part of this celebration of a wonderful industry that has an exciting future. We want to ignite the passion for British Cut Flowers.

January has been like a whirlwind, quite literally! We’re always pleased to see the end of a month that seems to last forever, we felt the full force of Storm Isha when our big polytunnel was damaged and will now need to be reskinned, at one stage our biggest tunnel was under water, but February has arrived with a spring like day.
We have welcomed the Flowers From The Farm DAG scholars for their city and guilds training and as co-chairs of this organisation are still working on a restructuring process.
Our website has been updated and we’ve added new workshops for this Summer, and we are very excited to say that we will soon be publishing out Social Impact Report…..it’s been a busy month!

Today We finished for our Christmas break and what a fabulous day our trainees have had, the morning at Fired Up creating their own designs on ceramic mugs and then back to OB for food, karaoke, dancing and awards, not forgetting the all important quiz!
