Torbay RNLI confirms plan to repeat CrewFest music and street food party next year.
Following the success of CrewFest ’24, Torbay RNLI’s ‘Quayside Music and Street Food’ festival held in Brixham Harbour, the Crew plan to repeat the party again next summer.
Andrew Medley, Torbay RNLI’s Coxswain said; “The feedback from everybody has been incredibly positive. People enjoyed the range of food available from our brilliant vendors, and the entertainment and music kept the party rocking well into the evening. We’re hugely grateful to our sponsors who made the event possible, together with the lifeboat crew, partners, and friends who worked really hard to make it such a success. We’ll be back by popular demand next year!”
Ron Campion, a Launch Authority (LA) at Torbay RNLI and organizer of this year’s event, said; “CrewFest ’24 was our chance to celebrate the RNLI’s 200th Anniversary with our supporters, friends and family locally.
“Even though it was free to enter, it raised the fantastic sum of £7,365-31 for our local lifeboat station. And the official count of people entering during day topped over 2,500 - many more than we expected.
"The day would not have been the success it was without the fulsome support, backing and encouragement of our amazing sponsors; Inter-line Building Supplies, Bays Brewery, Havills, Coombes Fisheries, Sefton Ltd Seafish, Morrisons, The Guard House Café, Light It Up Torbay.
"We’d also like to thank Torbay Lifeboat Fundraisers who staffed the gates for almost 12 hours and the TLF Retail team who kept the RNLI Shop open for an additional four hours, as well as helping set up beforehand and clear up afterwards. We’d like to thank all the entertainers; those on stage, those in front of the stage and those in the background keeping the children occupied and enthralled over the day. There was also a lot of assistance behind the scenes from various sources, including the wives and girlfriends of the crew, and others, manning the stalls, helping erect the stage, and move provisions and equipment as needed throughout the event. So, a big thanks to the Torbay Lifeboat Fundraisers, to all our friends and volunteers, all of whom make this a ‘One Crew’ station and in this instance made CrewFest ‘24 happen so effectively.
“Given the positive response we’ve had back, we are already planning a CrewFest ‘25 around the same time, mid-August, next year. By ready to put it in your diary!”
