A message from Andreas..

It's been a turbulent period for hospitality here in Birmingham, and we've seen Glynn Purnell take a brave decision to call it at day at Purnell's. I'm sure he's got a lot more to give the industry with his burning ambition as well as his existing sites.

Glynn has always been a part a part of the Simpsons family since I employed him as a young man back in the mid 90s.

The playing field we're left with by the government is not fit for purpose.

Restaurants are a barometer of the wellbeing of a country. At the moment, the economy has lacked the due care and attention that small businesses like restaurants and retail need to thrive.

We need VAT and Business Rates reform immediately.

The backbone of the British economy is small, family owned businesses, and we need help now.
