Thank you to everyone who has already entered our BE event on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September. If you are thinking of entering, it would really help us if you could do so by 12 noon on Tuesday 13th August 2024. As you know it takes so much to organise an event and getting your entries in really helps us to plan and organise our volunteers. We have classes from Go BE 80 to Open Novice and Lucy McCarthy our XC course designer has planned new routes for the course. We also welcome Alison Naylor as our new SJ course designer, so we have something for everyone. Please come and support your local event and share with all of your friends.

**SAPEY ODE 28th July -CANCELLED **

When the entries closed at 12noon today we had only received 100 entries and so it is with the greatest disappointment that Alan, Audrey, and the Team at Sapey are cancelling the unaffiliated one-day event scheduled to run on 28th July.

Thank you for your continued support for Sapey and for sending your entries but sadly there just are not enough to make the event viable. The overheads to run these events are significant and unfortunately the costs will not be covered so we have no option other than to cancel . We hope that by making the decision now and not leaving it until nearer to the event will give you sufficient time for you to change your plans, and this applies to all our kind volunteer helpers and officials too.

Your entry fee will be refunded in full and will be paid back onto the card you entered with, but the Horse Events booking system fee of £2.00 is non-refundable.

We are truly devastated that we find ourselves in this position and hope that in 2025 things will improve.

We wish you all good wishes for the remainder of the season.

Sapey ODE & 2-phase Decision Day – this Friday 17 May.

Thank you all who have got their entries in early we are so grateful for your support. However, this message comes with a heavy heart in that the number of entries received is extremely disappointing with only 56 entries at 6am this morning.

We do fully understand how difficult it is for everyone, but we cannot financially run a horse trial with less than 150 entries and, for organising we need to know well in advance how many judges, how many volunteers, how many dressage arenas we need etc, etc everyone needs to know what we they are doing, so please send your entries in.

Decision Day will be 12noon Friday 17th May.

Prep for Success C A N C E L L E D

We are sincerely sorry to disappoint you all, but this wet weather is relentless. We had another 7mm of rain overnight and the ground is saturated. We need at least 10 days to a fortnight of good drying weather to even get the heavy machinery out on to the ground to enable the XC Course to be set-up as many of the portable jumps were winter stored. The weather forecast is not sufficiently promising for us to be confident that we can do this in time. So sadly, we have made the decision to cancel the Prep for Success Event on the 28th April. It is then only six weeks until the Sapey UA1 ODE we cannot fit in another date to run the Prep for Success before the ODE. If you have already entered Prep for Success your entry fee will be fully refunded by Horse Events, but the £2 booking fee is non-refundable.

Being optimistic, this weather must surely change, and we will open for XC Schooling at the earliest opportunity. Hopefully we will open for the first two weeks of May, and the dates will be on the Website Schooling Page as soon as we can see the ground is fit.
