💜 To carry on a theme… did you know that (ridiculously) according to research by, we look our oldest at 3.30pm on Wednesdays! For me I’m pretty sure that happens at 12 noon in a Monday!
💜 However, statistically speaking, a date on a Wednesday is most likely to be a successful one 😜!
♥️ Make sure it is by purchasing some flowers before you go 🥰🥰 ♥️
Good morning!
I was wondering what to write today and remembered Tuesday is supposed to be the most productive day of the week. I’m not sure this is true as most weeks I think Tuesday is actually Wednesday so surely the busiest day is Wednesday?!!
Either way remember…. Tuesday is a good day, you survived Monday. And tomorrow is Wednesday, halfway through your work week!
HAPPY TUESDAY (or is it Wednesday?! 😋)
🌻🌻 Anyone else suffering from not finishing anything today? I’ve spent so much time fannying about from one thing to another I’ve not accomplished ANYTHING!
On the other hand - look at these gorgeous Sunnies - they are belters! 🌻🌻
Slightly gutted as these are the last of my peonies this year from the Flower Plots. This was their best year - some were triple headed - but still not loads. Each year they get more established and bloom a few more.
TBH this year I’d been a bit of a bitch to them - giving them a severe talking to then completely ignored them, focusing on the seeds that I was blinking intent on starting early and making sure they grew!
And look how the peonies thrived!
I once did this to my chickens (don’t have them anymore) - gave them a real chat about no egg production and the oven (joking… I’m joking) and they started laying a couple of days later! Who knew!
ANYWAY…. enjoy these pics, hopefully more next year 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

STUCK FOR FATHERS DAY?!! 💪💪
It seems a little unorthodox at a first glance, but you might be pleasantly surprised that giving a man flowers is perfectly acceptable. In a poll by the Society of American Florists, over 60% of men say they would “love” to receive flowers! Especially if they are tough to shop for, a gift of flowers is an unexpected expression of your appreciation of him 😍😍
Calling all gardeners with a touch of the Darkness within!
Check out these Surfinia Petunias! …. Almost black in colour.
Not for everyone I’m sure but they are pretty stunning!

💛 Good Morning! 💛 It’s May Day…. We will get a fresh delivery in tomorrow morning so we will be closed today. 💛 Amazingly, I haven’t been down to Sputie beach in SUCH a long time and it’s on my doorstep. I forgot just how beautiful it is.
😳😳 Everyone: “isn’t it lovely to work in a florists!” 😳😳 Me: “sometimes!” What a trail of destruction I’ve left behind me these busy few days! A complete sh*t show! Mission: clean up
💕 TOP TIP ALERT 💕 💕 Meant to do this yesterday so I could shamefully call it Top Tip Tuesday 🫣 but I forgot 🤣 💕 Anyway - we’ve been using hydrangea in our bouquets lately and they are notorious for bad behaviour! So when the wilt, try this and see them perk up again! 💕 I WOULD NOT recommend using a glass vase like I have. I used it as I thought it looked nice for the reel, but in reality, GLASS & BOILING WATER DOES NOT MIX WELL!
💕 busy day today for deliveries so I’ll be heading out around 12 noon to get this done. The shop will be closed for longer over lunch, hoping to be back at 2pm 💕 thank you 💕
💚 I have ALWAYS loved disco balls! The way they sparkle and throw the sunshine is immense. 💚 They look fantastic - popping all over the place! 💚 Also…. How gorge is the ❤️ sweatshirt there? I was sooo tempted but went for a new pair of jeans instead 🤩
💚 My BIGGEST external project to date … and I LOOOOVVVEED it! 💚 I was thrilled to be asked to create this external garland by Becca Mac and do some internal window decs too (more on that later - but it includes my fav …. disco balls 🪩🪩)! 💚 The garland was made in sections, on a base of contorted Hazel lengths and embellished with greens and creams to complement the colours of Becca Mac’s exterior. 💚 I’m really pleased with how it turned out 💚
💕 I’ve been very lucky recently - spending a lot of time in Dornoch working on different projects 💕 The Royal Golf Hotel Dornoch trusted me to construct some mantle arrangements, using faux flowers 💕 TBH I was a tad nervous as Angela gave me free rein - but I think they worked out ok! 💕 This is the mantle in the Reception area ….
SAY WHAT…. Planted these less than a week ago and all doing as they should - apart from the cosmos! They are giant …. And leggy which has me worried somewhat. I’ve taken the lid off them to see if they cool their jets and thicken a bit! Fingers crossed they’ll do ok! (Excuse the messy floor - I dropped one of the trays a little and I’m yet to hoover the mess up 🙄😜)
🚨 Alert …… CHRISTMAS POST 🤣🤣🤣 So at the start of December, Brora had its late night, shopping event. Each person that makes a purchase in any shop in Brora that night, gets entered into a raffle. Admission time… Hands up, we forgot to put our raffle tickets into the big draw! So two months later, we have done a mini draw ourselves with the tickets and da da da da da daaaaaaaa…. The winners were Johnny and Meg from Brora. Congratulations folks! I hope you enjoy your bouquet of flowers xx
