A few stems from the cutting garden arranged in a favourite footed bowl.
I’m so grateful for the downpour yesterday (although at the time I was at the school fete with a glass of Pimm’s huddling under a tree yet still getting drenched which felt hilariously British 😆) But we needed that rain so much and all the plants are much happier today.
This sunflower is a new variety I’m growing this year called Astra Rose, the colouring is beautiful and the heads aren’t too big making it a win. Sitting with corncockle, dahlia, a single cosmos and lots of my favourite perennial grasses pennisetum villosum (Chinese fountain grass)
Also spot the intruder who was hiding in the dahlia and emerged to photobomb the shot 🐞

The start of April and the cherry blossom bursting on the trees reminds me of this beauty of a wedding where I got to use cherry blossom in abundance and endless spring treats of tulips, Icelandic poppies, anemones ranunculus and narcissi. They are the queen bees of spring!

💕💕💕 A busy few days working with to bring beautiful seasonal valentines bouquets to their Bruton and Mayfair shops. ♥️♥️♥️
With a steady stream being delivered all week and more were dropped down to the Farmshop at this morning 👌

These bouquets bring the best of spring, a dozen striking red British tulips, or bouquets with beautiful Italian ranunculus, French anemones and english tulips and alstromeria, find flowering quince and magnolia bud and p***y willow in larger bunches too 💕

I don’t think I’ve ever had a busier Jan & Feb behind the scenes, which is immensely exciting for the year ahead.

Tomorrow is of course Valentine’s Day, often one of the busiest times in a florist’s diary. It’s certainly been a busy couple of weeks! Travelling the length of the country for FLANNELS, VM installs in 7 cities, this week oodles of bouquets for FARMSHOP heading to Mayfair and Somerset shops.

Here’s some behind the scenes and il share some creations later

- Joy in finding a perfect double headed tulip ♥️
- Perky Gerb’s and Carnations. Red and pink for the win 👌
- Heavenly Italian ranunculus. These have my heart💕
- Unpacking hundreds of Cornish grown tulips
- 6am installs in Newcastle are freeeezing
- Sub zero protection for flowers on the road, Hort fleece and bubble wrap keeping them all cosy. The things we do for flowers!😆

One more day at it today. Florists you’ve got this 💪

A little late in my well wishes but hugely heartfelt all the same. To all my dearest friends and loyal customers and to all followers along here I hope it’s been a magical Christmas with your dearest ones and a restful holiday so far. ✨✨✨

As I now lay bed-bound in betwixtmas, being brought turkey noodle soup while I’m totally floored by flu, I’m so grateful that this awful lurgie came after Christmas and I can cherish all the fun that was had in the lead up and over the big day.

I thought I would share our Christmas branch-tree, something we started last year in Italy when we stepped outdoors and gathered a sculptural branch from the mountainside, but this year the idea pulled us to create one again, so I did a small potted spruce tree for all the boys homemade decorations and this 8ft branch for a main focal decoration to the room and I really couldn’t love it more. ✨

Every year new special baubles and trinkets are sought out but I must share two of this years handmade treasures - a Poppy seed head bauble by bought by my son as a gift for me at the Frome Makers market after I fell in love with it. And the hand painted wooden dancer by , the label tells how it is an heirloom to pass through generations collecting stories and both these will surely do just that.

Sharing some other scenes from these past couple of weeks. I have last weeks beautiful wedding still to share too but one thing at a time….
