⭐ ‘Let the Light Pour In’ - an evening of poetry with Lemn Sissay⭐

An uplifting poetry collection from the number one bestselling poet, Lemn Sissay OBE

‘How do you do it?’ said night

‘How do you wake up and shine?’

‘I keep it simple,’ said light.

‘One day at a time.’

For the past decade, Lemn Sissay has composed a short poem as dawn breaks each morning. Life-affirming, witty and full of wonder, these poems chronicle his own battle with the darkness and are fuelled with resilience and defiant joy. ‘Let the Light Pour In’ is a collection of the best of these poems, and a book celebrating his morning practice.

This is a new collection from Lemn Sissay - one of the best and most beloved British poets of our time – and his first book for adults since number one bestselling ‘My Name is Why.’

⭐ Christopher Hart in conversation Tom Hynes. Hedgelands: A Wild Wander Around Britain’s Greatest Habitat’ (Published 18 April 2024) ⭐

In this joyous journey around the wild edges of Britain, Christopher Hart and Tom Hynes take us through the life, ecology and history of the humble countryside hedge and how it is inextricably woven into our language, landscape and culture. Hedges – or hedgerows – have long been an integral part of the British landscape. An ancient human-made boundary, the hedgerow is now considered the greatest edge habitat. In the event that Chris is unable to attend the session, Tom Haynes will fill in. Unfortunately, we cannot offer any book signings or autographs in this event.
Tom has loads of experience of traditional hedge management in Devon, has been a member of Devon Hedge group for a long time and used to teach an ecology and land-management qualification at Petroc college.
