⭐'Expressions of an Intimate Ecology - An Ongoing Conversation with Earth Pigments in Southwest England' with Pete Ward⭐
For the last 18 years Peter Ward has been at the forefront of earth pigment research and painting in the UK. His journey began in North Devon, looking into the locally significant pigment Bideford Black and has since expanded, including contributions to national and international exhibitions, projects and publications. This talk, to accompany his latest book 'expressions of an intimate ecology - an ongoing conversation with earth pigments in southwest England', brings together aspects of Peter’s expansive interdisciplinary creative practice with hand foraged and processed earth pigments from Devon and Cornwall, and will also include a look at his recent residencies at the Knepp Rewilding Centre in West Sussex and in Budawang Country with elders of the Yuin Aboriginal Nation in southeast Australia. Peter is currently based in St Just, Penwith.
