That was a close one!
Last night the team played at our neighbours, Brooke. On a very drizzly evening it was touch and go if we would play but the rain eased up, with Topcroft winning the toss and electing to bat.
Losing an early wicket we saw captain Jodie come in to bat scoring an impressive 6 🎉 before being bowled for 18. Some great running and calling between the wickets from Sophia saw Maisie reaching 13 before being bowled. The innings finished with Sophia not out for 21 👏🏻 and Topcroft finishing on 104.
With a team debut for Poppy 👏🏻 Topcroft went out to field in a very tight game with Topcroft sharing 5 wickets between the team, some impressive bowling well done all. The team kept up the vocal encouragement throughout but unfortunately Brooke scored their winning runs in the final over.
So proud of the team and again well done to our new players for joining in with the game. Now let’s hope the ☀️ reappears for our next game in a couple of weeks 🤞🏼
As always our sensible team photo followed by our new tradition of a silly photo, our normal team ‘wobbler’ was not playing, as Sarah kindly umpired, so Evie took on the role and gave the girls a great laugh at the end!
