A late 16th-century barn forming part of the historic Alswick Hall Estate lovingly restored to a stunning contemporary event space for exclusive hire. Nestled within the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, conveniently situated for access, it is the perfect place for your wedding day dreams to become a reality. Just a stoneโ€™s throw from the Barn are our luxurious glamping tents. Fully equipped wi

th bedding, towels, USB charging and a few goodies for you and you and your guests to spend the night. The tents and shower block are heated so no matter the time of year, you are guaranteed a comfortable and cosy stay.

We wanted a smaller, relaxed, vibey day from the get-go, and Alswick was beyond perfect! Kay and her team were incredible both in planning and on the day, everything was under control and thought of, and my partner and I got to slow down and actually enjoy the day!! The glamping and morning after was incredible, and so many guests said it was a highlight! My partner is a wheelchair user, and we had several disabled guests. The barn itself is accessible, and the glamping is better than you expect (there is only gravel up to it, then a wooden path, and a step into the tents/lodge, but the honeymoon one is spacious, with a bathroom). It worked perfectly for us, and the whole team was so accommodating in planning and making sure it worked for us! The whole day was beyond a dream, I canโ€™t recommend Alswick enough!! Our Story

Husband & wife team Matt and Kay Hamilton-Crook launched The Barn at Alswick in 2017 with the wish to provide a really personal approach to hosting weddings.

โ€œSo many venues become a conveyor-belt of events, where weddings become less personal, less distinctive somehow. We saw an opportunity to offer something different, a far more individual experience, where we donโ€™t have to abide a set format and strict rulesโ€™

The Barn at Alswick hold a limited number of weddings each year, enabling them to offer a truly exclusive experience for all their couples, who can enjoy being fully centre stage.
