A community picnic in St John's Park, a service at the War Memorial Garden and the lighting of the beacon will be among the programme of the day.

Burgess Hill Swift Supporters are hosting an evening talk on Wednesday 24 April.
Edward Mayer from Swift Conservation will be speaking on the lives of swifts, and how you can help them.

Doors open at 6:45pm. Tickets are available on the door for £7.50, including refreshments.
The event will be held at Cyprus Hall, and there will be information stands from Hurst Hedgehog Haven, FrogLife, the Lost Woods team and artist, Alison Ingram.

Join us at Check Your Health Day, on Saturday 2 March!
From 10am - 2pm, at Cyprus Hall, we will have blood pressure and blood glucose testing available for Burgess Hill residents. Pre-booking is recommended and can be done via our Ticketsource: https://buff.ly/3MJyKBP

These tests are for those who have not already been diagnosed with a pre-existing condition. There will be some friendly faces on hand from Mid Sussex Wellbeing and The Triangle Leisure Centre to talk about how to have a healthy lifestyle.

Pop along to MSVA's Volunteer Fair on Friday 2 February between 1pm and 3pm at Cyprus Hall, Cyprus Road, RH15 8DX.

There will be a wide selection of community groups and charities there to tell you about their volunteering opportunities - including getting yourself on radio, gardening, befriending, working with young people or being part of a committee. Pop along and find out more.

IS SCIENCE PROVING MEDIUMSHIP IS A REAL PHENOMENON?

Respected space scientist – and psychic – speaks at Cyprus Hall, Tues 14 Nov 2023

On Tuesday 14 November 2023, at 8pm at Cyprus Hall, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, the Changing Times lecture series welcomes qualified space scientist and practicing Spiritualist medium CHRIS CONNELLY to discuss 'The Science of Mediumship'.

For years, psychics and the practice of mediumship have been dismissed by academics – and yet high interest remains and new and important scientific experiments strongly suggest that this area needs major reassessment.

Chris Connelly is an unusual blend – he is a scientist with over 35 years of experience in the aerospace and space industries who holds a master’s degree in engineering – but he is also a psychic with a master’s degree in psychology, and is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on the genuine brain processes that may be used by Spiritualist mediums to communicate with the dead.

Chris says: “In this presentation, I will present evidence from experiments that have been conducted with Spiritualist mediums and volunteers that show there is a real phenomenon here, before then demonstrating how the use of commercial EEG brain-scanning equipment can openly measure these effects This presentation will be of significant interest to anyone who is interested in psychic phenomena, mediumship, parapsychology or consciousness studies."
