🔥🔥🔥Thank you everyone! Burntisland Firework Display is so grateful for all your support.

It was a MONUMENTAL EFFORT by such a small amount of people so it’s so pleasing when it all comes together!!

If anyone can please spare anymore pennies please do so as it will help fund next years - can anyone guess how much this costs?? 😁

Even half an hour would help tremendously to enable the Bonfire to happen on 3rd November. Your time and attention are greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!

Less than 5 weeks to go until the Burntisland Bonfire and Fireworks Display on 3rd November thanks to you!!!! We the committee are still working very hard to get all the traffic arrangements, bonfire/fireworks logistics, insurance, supporting groups and permissions in place for the big day.

To keep the momentum going and as the event costs £15,000 each year to run, you will start to see some new collection tins, buckets and posters around the town. Also the https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/burntisland-bonfire-and-fireworks-display is open for next year and there maybe even some funding events coming!!

Again thank you all so much for your continued support!! More details on exact timings for the evening to come!!

📆 The AGM for Burntisland Events Group, organisers of the Bonfire Night and Fireworks Display, will take place on Sunday 27th November at 2pm in The Burntisland Sands Hotel.

Sadly the event could not be organised this year as we didn’t have enough people in the committee - there is no secretary or treasurer, and not enough members. If we can get more people involved now, we can organise an event for 5th November 2023! 🎆

Anyone interested in joining the committee is very welcome to attend the AGM to find out more about what this would involve. Please get in touch with Chair Ailsa Powrie if you plan on coming along or if you're unable to attend but would like to help out, email: [email protected] or message: 07598 936595

It is with great regret that the Bonfire & Fireworks won’t be going ahead this year. I know this will be a disappointment to many.
This is all down to cost. As well as an increase in costs for the fireworks of circa £1600 we have been unable to get insurance. Our normal insurance company just wouldn’t insure us at all - a flat out no. The ones that would insure us literally cost thousands. This is due to an increased risk of an outbreak of COVID and that claims may come in if the event was seen to be the cause.
We have circa 8/10k of people decending on Burntisland all at once, so it can’t be compared to the shows where folk are constantly moving through, and where the numbers are much lower - albeit I know it didn’t seem like it at some points this summer.
We hope to be back next year as it would be such a shame for this event to end but unfortunately if we can’t get increased funding it is unlikely to be.
Thank you. 😢
