I wonder if Tutbury people know that Tutbury Village Hall has a 200 Club? We have 200 numbers (we have some spare) and the cost is £12 per number per year. Our year runs from March to February, so we are now renewing for 2024/25. Over half the money taken goes in prizes and just under half helps to keep the hiring fees at a reasonable rate. We pay out £30 £20 and £15 every month and more at Christmas. If you would like to join, please send me a message and we can allocate you a number! It would be wonderful to have all 200 numbers being used! Many thanks

Trailer for Oddbodies' one-man adaptation of Shakespeare's KING LEAR. 'This production is about as far away from ‘trad and bad’ as you…

Wedding from hell at Tutbury Village Hall yesterday. Apologies to residents in Monk Street for excess noise and rubbish dumped ... I think most of this has been picked up by Doveside Club in Hatton. Thanks also to them for helping clean the mess and put away tables and chairs, nothing of which had been done by the hirers. And we had a children's party at lunchtime today ..... so sad the way some people behave ..... took me 3 hours with helpers to clean the mess away .......

New Classes start the week commencing 19th Feb ❤️

Saturday 10th February at 7.30 pm in Tutbury Village Hall
The Show
Armed with only a drum, a guitar, a knife and a chair, the tragic trajectory of Lear’s demise is presented to you from the point of view of his long suffering and ever-loyal fool. This one-man show is inventive, irreverent and highly accessible.
Perfect for fans of Shakespeare’s work as well as those who have previously found it hard going –this production benefits from very clear storytelling and has been brilliantly edited from the original text, ensuring it is both easy to follow and highly entertaining.
From poor deluded Gloucester to sweet Cordelia and mad Tom – all the characters from this sad and sorry tale are brought to glorious life before your very eyes. Blindness, betrayal, delusion, deceit, love, loyalty, lust and greed – it’s all here in this fast paced, funny, poignant and ultimately heart-breaking production.
Adapted & performed by the incredibly talented Paul Morel, and directed by John Mowat, this show contains all of Oddbodies’ trademark physical ingenuity and visual flair. Oddbodies is the company behind a number of highly acclaimed shows including the two-person adaptation of Richard III which previously toured with rural touring schemes across the country, including Live & Local.
This is Shakespeare, but not as he or you know it!
N.B. this show does not contain nudity.

General Information

Tutbury Village Hall started life in July 1987 as Tutbury Community Centre and provided various facilities for local people including a lunch club as well as various classes and Mother & Toddler group. In January 2000 it became Tutbury Village Hall and began to widen activities in an attempt to keep up with changing needs.

In 2018 we have various classes ranging from an Art group to energetic exercise classes with yoga, adult ballet, children’s dance, badminton, Scottish dancing, tai chi PiYo and and FABS in-between, along with Weight Watchers meeting weekly and the Parish Council and Civic Society and other groups monthly. Tutbury Band also rehearses every Saturday morning.

Tutbury Arts Group also meet and perform the annual pantomime and we have an outside drama group who usually perform a show in early summer. Richard Wakefield School also uses the hall for their summer prizegiving.
