Tutbury Village Hall started life in July 1987 as Tutbury Community Centre and provided various facilities for local people including a lunch club as well as various classes and Mother & Toddler group. In January 2000 it became Tutbury Village Hall and began to widen activities in an attempt to keep up with changing needs.
In 2018 we have various classes ranging from an Art group to energetic exercise classes with yoga, adult ballet, children’s dance, badminton, Scottish dancing, tai chi PiYo and and FABS in-between, along with Weight Watchers meeting weekly and the Parish Council and Civic Society and other groups monthly. Tutbury Band also rehearses every Saturday morning.
Tutbury Arts Group also meet and perform the annual pantomime and we have an outside drama group who usually perform a show in early summer. Richard Wakefield School also uses the hall for their summer prizegiving.
Live & Local bring us excellent shows during the autumn to early summer months – these are professional shows and are supported by The Arts Council, Staffordshire County Council and ESBC – and these shows are always excellent. Most years we have 3 or 4 shows.
The hall comprises a large room which has a badminton court set out in it, and also a stage with dressing rooms and toilets. There are 100 chairs and 28 tables in this room, which makes it ideal for shows and also for family parties. There is a smaller room which is used for meetings and which has 50 chairs and a dozen tables. There is a well-equipped kitchen which hirers can use.
The hall is available to hire for various functions – either the whole hall or just the large or small room. It is suitable for wedding receptions, family get-togethers and children’s parties. The Doveside Club in Hatton are our licensees, so if you have a family party, they will provide the bar. No other licensees can be used.
If you would like to hire the hall, please phone Jan on 01283 812248 or email [email protected] for availability and prices.
