What a day at the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival!
Weather held, lots of folk about. Gary & I had such a blast at the Sharvagh House Cookery demonstration kitchen with Rob Curley of the Slemish Market Supper Club, Craig Garrott from Portrush Atlantic Hotel and Gary Stewart from Tartine at Distillers Arms.
Lots of highlights which we will share but for now we would like to pay tribute to this talented young chef Tyler Campell, graduate from the NRC Ballymoney and Chef at Tartine at Distillers Arms.
Tyler tackled his first demo, mentored by Gary Stewart and blew everyone away with his passion and enthusiasm. He confidently prepared a stunning dish whilst being interviewed by our wonderful compère Wendy Gallagher from Causeway Coast Foodie Tours.
Here is Tyler with one of his super fans… his lovely Mum who was a great support to her talented son on his debut demo!

Paula McIntyre Cooks was in the main cookery area with some up and coming young people from Building Me which showcased their program and opportunities. Niall McGinn showcased some of his growing range of award winning produce from Dundarave Estate, very much on our doorstep with a long history and association with Bushmills village.
Thank you everyone who supported the Chef demonstrations, all the Bushmills Taste Trail participants, shops, galleries and gift shops, The Naturally North Coast and Glens artisan market and all the activities organised by Causeway Coast & Glens Events team.

Lots of positive feedback about Day 2 at the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival and we are really looking forward to Day 3. The programme is full of activities including more Chef demonstrations and tastings.

Sharvagh House plays host to Chef Rob Curley of the Slemish Market Supper Club , Tyler Campbell a graduate from Ballymoney and Chef at Tartine at Distillers Arms , Craig Garrott, Head Chef at the Portrush Atlantic Hotel and Gary Stewart, Chef, Patron and Producer from Tartine at Distillers Arms and the Distiller's Sauce range. Wendy Gallagher from Causeway Coast Foodie Tours will be on hand to chat to the chefs about their dishes and stories.

Headline Celebrity Chef Paula McIntyre is back, with help from local Bushmills girls group Building Me (in the Main Cookery Area) Paula will also be joined by Niall McGinn, award winning Chef producer from Dundarave Estate and you can see her in The Designerie showcasing her recently launched Gin and signing copies of her Taste Causeway recipe book.

Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market is back and the Bushmills Taste Trail will be in full swing tomorrow, with highlights such as Kane Family Butchers Bushmills ltd BBQ, Live music at Market Square Bushmills from 12pm to 2pm and Bush House Bar from 3pm and lots of festival themed dishes in the participating venues. Hello wanderers 🐚

There’s been a new influx of you recently so thought I’d say hi, my name is Toni aka Tones.
β€˜Come wander with me’ was a seed planted on my travels in Australia when friends surprised me with a beach picnic on my last night. I thought we were going for fish and chips and I still vividly remember walking down the path to see the fairy lights, candles and beautiful food. The details and effort they put into that night gave me all the feels and the memory is something I cherish greatly. When we were confined to our homes I spent time in the back garden making my own picnics fuelling the idea of creating this moment for others.
We’re 3 years in now and Im one of those annoying people who can say they really love their job, when I’m not traversing cliffs and dunes to set up a magical scene for my couples you’ll still find me behind the chair doing my other love, hair dressing!

Here some other random info you didn’t need to know but hey since we’re sharing~

🌸I love LOVE, getting to be a part in the planning process of a proposal or wedding occasion will never not be thrilling to me.

🌸 I love sides, Im an advocate for double carbs and I believe all varieties of potatoes to be beautiful.

🌸 I hate burpees. My love of potatoes means I tolerate them.

🌸I may never ski again, after doing the splits ripping my ski pants in the crotch, being mountain rescued by stretcher after falling on my thumb in the space of 24 hours the embarrassment level is still high.

🌸Dog reels are life!
