It might be snowy today but we are planning ahead for our first talk of the year (many more in the pipeline).

The social circles of victorian buxton and it's influence on the development of the town.

Always lovely to find images like this one of the Palace Hotel, Buxton complete with it's original entrance and access (now blocked up near the dome entrance).

This is a fantastic building from the 1860s period of Buxton when tourism came to it's prime for the town.

We are looking forward to bring involved with a number of events covering this period around the Buxton area including the Buxton Belle Époque Ball in July.

We have a wide range of knowledge (including original items) from the 1400s to the 1940s tied into the High Peak area and further afield.

So many towns and villages were influenced during the Great War from men leaving for the front to providing care to even career changes especially within the spa towns and industry.

On this day let us not forget all they gave for our lives today. Please spare a moment at 11 for the anniversary of armistice.

Over this weekend, spend a moment about what they gave and explore something local from a memorial to a building that was used during the first World War. You will find out so much more about your local area and what people went through.

Did you know we are currently creating a series of walking tours across North Derbyshire?

From exploring the Spa and grandeur of Buxton to the hills and valleys of the Peak district. Within your tour we will be heading back in time with authentic historical costumed characters covering the exciting history and the dark history of the past, From the excitement of exploration to the dark deaths of disease!

Explore Derbyshire is a new immersive support network being developed over the coming months.

We plan to support venues, locations and businesses across Derbyshire from Tourism management to exploring ideas and much more.

The team have a wide range of supportive backgrounds including Business management, Events management, Heritage management and Conservation. With the varied and yet connecting mix of support we can help you and your location develop for future years to come.

We are also starting to create a range of walking tours which will be available in a number of locations across the High Peak area and into the Derbyshire Dales.
