After having the privilege and honour of creating so many farewell flowers this year, I wanted to say:

Christmas is often painted as a season of joy, togetherness, and celebration. For many, however, it can be a time when grief feels heavier. The contrast between festive cheer and personal sorrow can make the absence of our loved ones feel even more profound. If you’re navigating grief this Christmas, know this: it’s perfectly acceptable to be sad during this time, no matter how far into your grief journey you are!

Grief doesn’t take a break at Christmas. Memories of shared traditions, empty seats at the table, or the echoes of a loved one’s laughter can bring waves of pain. While others are hanging wreaths or decorating you might be holding back tears—or letting them flow. And that’s okay. There’s no “right way” to feel, especially at Christmas. I’m 6 years in since losing my Mam (photo) and I still find Christmas the hardest time, more so because it was her favourite time of year.

Christmas can be bittersweet but it doesn’t have to be endured in silence. Feel your feelings, honour your memories, and give yourself the grace to grieve. After all, the true meaning of the season—love—includes the love we hold for those we’ve lost.

You are not alone, and it’s okay to feel exactly as you do.

PARKING 🅿️

Hiya Everyone, just wanted to pop a little reminder about 🅿️ If you’re popping in to the Flower Den to collect flowers, wreaths etc or are attending one of our workshops, please can I ask you do not use the car park to the rear of the shop. This is not part of our premises and is private parking.

I know parking on the high street is difficult and limited. There are paid parking facilities close by too.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who supported our little flower den in November! Whether you purchased flowers, gifts, or homeware, or joined us for our late-night open evenings, your support means the world.

The open evenings were such a success, and it was wonderful to see so many of you there. Your enthusiasm, kindness, and community spirit make everything we do so worthwhile.

Now time to gear up for our sold out wreath workshops and enjoy watching people create gorgeous wreaths, made for them by them!
