If you’ve already explored the city's iconic landmarks, such as the Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, or the bustling streets of Alfama, I highly recommend venturing beyond Lisbon to try a wine-tasting tour. 🇵🇹

One of the highlights of such a tour is crossing the impressive Vasco da Gama Bridge, stretching over 7.5 miles and is known as one of the longest bridges in Europe. Our tour guide was fantastic, knowledgeable, engaging, and full of interesting anecdotes. Through stories, we learned a great deal about Portugal’s history, the wine-making traditions of the region, and the local area. 🍷

The wine-tasting excursion was part of our itinerary after a relaxing sea day on a cruise, making it a perfect introduction to the flavours and culture of the Setúbal region. One of the standout moments was visiting the famous José Maria da Fonseca winery, a family-owned estate that has been producing wine for over 200 years.
