The Memorial Hall is run by a committee, which is broadly representative of the village - we have a great group of volunteers who do maintenance work, admin tasks, legal stuff etc. to make sure the hall remains in good shape and available for use into the future for any community group that needs it.
At a recent meeting, we discussed the need to consider the interests of the entire community - and realised that young folks do not really have a voice here. When we say young, we use the same range as the Young Scot, so 11- 25, however, We are a registered charity, regulated by OSCR, so cannot have committee members younger than 16.
With that in mind, we would like to extend an invitation to anyone aged 16-25 in the village who would like to be more involved in the running of the hall or organising events more appealing to younger folks to get in touch - message me here, or get in touch with any of the other committee members if you would prefer.

Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you think who would be interested, but isn't on Facebook.

⭐️ Wow! 🤩

What a weekend that was! Now that we have had a chance to recover we have some Thank You's to make! ♥️

Firstly, Thank You everyone who turned up to join us, we're very grateful to everyone who came out to support the event and see our shiny new projector in action!🎥

We had a number of happy helpers and without them we wouldn't have managed. So, Thank You to Christine Blair, Catherine Harrison, Fiona Smalley, Selena and Katie! 🙏

Thank You to the many people who donated home baking 🧁and Tombola prizes!🍾 We had some amazing, beautiful and tasty cakes, loaves and biscuits galore! And our tombola might have been the biggest Timbola stall in history!

And finally a special Thank You to Morrisons Dunoon and Dunoon Community Champion for their generous donation of food and drink! 🍿🥛

Now time to rest, before we plan the next one 🤣

1 sleep to go until our Eggxciting day of Eggstra-Special Fun!

⏰️ Our Easter Hunt starts from 2:30pm, you can collect your sheets from outside the Memorial Hall from that time but in order to recieve a prize, you must return to the desk by 3:45 at the absolute latest. If possible, please bring a pen or pencil!

👪 All children MUST be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event.

❌️ No unaccompanied children will be permitted to take part in the Easter Hunt or attend the film showing.

⏳️ The films starts at 4pm prompt so get in early to visit the tombola, get yourself a cuppa and some popcorn and a cake or two before the main event!

Remember this event is FREE but any donations would be very much appreciated ♥️ Don't forget you'll need your pennies for the tombola! 💰

We’ve registered Strachur Memorial Hall with , which means over 7,000 brands will now donate to us for FREE every time you use to shop with them.

As well as our upcoming Boxing Day game, we also have another date for you to keep in your diary - as we will be hosting a Shinty Fundraiser at Strachur Memorial Hall on January 13th 💃🏻🥃🍻

We’ve got live folk/trad music in store from the wonderful Fuaim, alongside a whisky coin toss, a raffle and even a quiz - in what’s set to be a fantastic occasion to kick off our season!

Tickets are £10 (£5 for children) and can be purchased in person on the night, or beforehand at Strachur Filling Station. You can also message the page directly to pay online (we are currently sorting out an online payment method which will be up and running shortly).

All proceeds raised during the evening will go towards supporting your local shinty club for our upcoming season 🏑

The night will start at 7pm, and remember it’s BYOB 🍻🍷
