City of Troy?
If I was AP O'brien right now I would be really embarrassed about my "best ever horse" finishing well back in the pack in the Breeders Cup Dirt.
Why did he run it on a surface he had never ran on against top US horses who were used to a fast break and getting to the front and staying there.
Not the style of City of Troy a very under raced horse this year.
If he was the wonder horse AP claimed at the start of the season he should have run at Ascot and a lot more races besides if he expected it to compete on dirt against World class dirt horses.
This year in the 2000 Guineas where he finished 9th, just like the year before, and probably next year, we can expect another Ballydoyle par excellence to turn up and flop in the first classic.
He will probably be put off to stud now after a really dissapointing classic year where he failed to compete and when he did he ran on dirt against top World class horses and was found wanting.
I hope AP is embarrassed, he should be, so should all UK bookies pricing him up as the favourite.
