Looking back, to the time when we made the front cover & inside double page spread for the Spring edition of the wonderful Wedding Flowers & Accessories magazine (not now published). It was such an exciting time to see our work in print! 🌟🎯

The designs have stood the test of time with a modern timeless classic vibe that is still beautifully relevant ✨

All this amazing sunny weather we've been having in Cambridgeshire has meant outdoor weddings have been popping up in my galleries a lot lately (the memories photo apps seems to know how my mind works 🤔💬) I've been having fun planning the styling for this upcoming season's outdoor ones!

The greenery & stunning garden & landscapes backdrops are always a perfect frame for the florals. I've flowered a few hundred over the years in such a range of venues.

I absolutely love creating floral urn arrangements! 🌺They are always brimming with blooms, impactful & full of romance & drama! 😲💥They are a higher value design due to the complexity of making them & the amount of flower & foliage varieties used but are always loved & appreciated by my clients & their guests.

They can be created on a large scale but still portable (often by us!) so can be repurposed to another location later in the day for your meal or evening celebration.

I'm approaching my 14th Year Anniversary of me starting Larkspur Floral Design!🎉 Here's some fun trivia about me to mark the occasion!

🌼I grew up with my parents & brother in a village in the Peak District in an 'upside down' house. Our living spaces were all upstairs so we enjoyed gazing daily out to dramatic hilly views. We had 2 goats called Shamrock & Thistle, sheep, a dog (Angus) cat (Cobbler) hens, cockerel (who awoke me every morning!) & a gold fish, won at the fair.

🌺In my childhood I loved painting, drawing, dressing up & creating theatre sets under the stairs! I studied Art & Design in Cambridge at the arts college. I loved going to the botanic gardens to draw the plants in the victorian glasshouses.

🌸I became a curator of visual arts & worked in galleries in the north. A quirky community exhibition I helped organise was The People's Show, a display of local peoples collections which included seaside memorabilia, novelty teapots & Baked Bean tin labels!

🪻I had an amazing Granny who lived to a vibrant 99 yrs old, surviving on a diet of lard, red meat, sugary puds & very little exercise (she did live through 2 world wars & rationing!)

🌷My love of flowers started as a child on walks in the Derbyshire countryside. Thanks to my dad I was often asked to recall wild flower names. I used to love crushing rose petals in my granny's garden to make perfume. While I was bringing up my own children I decided to study floristry at Shuttleworth & the Covent Garden Academy in London. I took the plunge to start my own event flowers business, it's taken a huge amount of work & learning but I'm happy & proud that I that I've made it a success!

🌻I love anything arty: theatre, films, exhibitions, music & dance. I did ballet/contemporary dance exams, reaching the dizzy heights as a mouse in a production of Tales of Beatrix Potter! I'm now an avid kitchen dancer & love a wild & crazy whirl around to all genres of music it always makes me happy!

💐I love meeting & getting to know my couples, sharing the joy of enhancing your day using my creativity to conjure up florals that reflect you & surpass your expectations! I'm all eyes & ears! 💕Xx

Happy New Year! 🎊🌟 I hope it will be a wondrous 2025 for you! Thank you so much for your support in 2024. I'm very grateful to all my couples who I flowered for last year (& all the previous 13yrs!) It was fulfilling, challenging, exciting & required lots of energy, determination & application but was in every way sustaining! 😊💐
