Unfortunately, the decision has been made to not run either of these events at Horseheath in 2024. We appreciate that this will be a disappointment to many of you, we will miss seeing you all and sharing your eventing journeys with you.

TEMPORARY JOB VACANCY AT THURLOW ESTATE
Receptionist/Administrator (office-based role until January 2024)
Monday to Friday, 8.15am to 5.15pm
£10.00 to £15.00 per hour depending on experience

We are looking for a friendly, organised and team focused person to answer incoming calls and re-direct accordingly, take messages and gather information. To deal with administration including updating spreadsheets, opening daily post, checking existing jobs and allocating new ones and answering emails. Liaising with tenants and contractors regarding appointments as well as monitoring and updating our page. Excellent customer service skills necessary as well as experience in Word and Excel. Full training will be given.

To audit existing information, cross reference spreadsheets and paper files and then data transfer onto new Excel spreadsheets ready to populate a new property management database. Accuracy and attention to detail imperative as well as being able to work independently. Some Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets would be helpful. Full training will be given.

**Job Opportunity**

The Thurlow Estate is a diversified land and property holding located 18 miles south of Cambridge, 10 miles south of Newmarket, and 1 mile north of Haverhill. The Estate comprises a mix of residential and commercial properties, in hand and let farms, amenity woodlands, let farmland and sporting interests.

We are seeking an individual to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Assistant Agent to include property lettings and tenancy administration. The office-based, part-time role will include liaising with third parties such as tenants, contractors and other stakeholders.

Whilst experience in a similar role would be advantageous, proven ability to accommodate a varied administration workload with proficiency and strong customer service skills is key, and suitable training will be provided for the right candidate.

The position sits within the Estate Office team and is a multifaceted role combining support for a diverse range of estate management functions with a level of personal responsibility for administering the let property portfolio. If you have an appetite for a varied workload, experience with property and a desire to work as part of a small and dynamic, friendly team, then this could be the role for you.

For your information, on the weekend of 15th and 16th July 2023 the A1307 is going to be closed between Hildersham High Street and the site of Dalehead Foods (as shown in blue on the map). The diversion is very long and via Bury St Edmunds, this is because diversions from an A road can only be onto other A roads.

** Temporary Job Opportunity at Thurlow Estate **

We are looking for a Tractor Driver to work with our team to keep our woodland tracks clear to ensure our ongoing woodland maintenance programmes can continue.

Start date will be 1st July 2023 for six to eight weeks working Monday to Friday, 7.30a.m. to 4.30p.m.

Suitable candidates will need to be able to drive and get to and from Church Farm in Great Thurlow. Full training will be given and, dependent on age and experience, wages will be from £8.00 to £10.50 per hour.

Hot on the hooves of arguably our best BE ever, we had another memorable day on Saturday for our unaffiliated horse trials. It was great to see the rain easing up, the ground holding up, and so many of you turning up for another brilliant day!

As always, we are hugely grateful for the continued support of our wonderful sponsors and partners, without whom we simply couldn’t run. Likewise, we are in awe of our fantastic army of volunteers and officials who invest so much heart and soul into making it all happen - and we are ever thankful to everyone that helps make Horseheath such a welcoming and friendly experience.

Our warmest thanks goes to all our fabulous competitors – you were nothing short of awesome! Thank you so much for all your lovely comments - we’re glad you enjoyed it as much as we did. See you all next year!
