We’re all set to welcome everyone on Sunday morning!

If you’re joining us on site the layout has been amended to make use of the best ground and all of the space available.

We have 2 lorry parks depending on which direction you’re heading when you leave, plus our rather lovely central marquee and “Brad’s Bistro & Bar”…with some rather lovely cider on tap!

‼ NOW SUNDAY ONLY ‼

Due to lower than expected entries Horseheath will now only run on Sunday 23rd March. A quick decision has been made to enable competitors to reroute to other events, with as minimal inconvenience as possible.

Unfortunately Saturday’s Advanced and Intermediate classes are cancelled due to insufficient entries. All cancelled entries will be refunded immediately. Any entries wishing to move from Saturday to Sunday please email Wendy – [email protected]

The organising team are understandably disappointed to have to make this decision, however it is important to try and keen the fixture as financially viable as possible. We are very grateful to those who have supported the event and are only sorry not to be able to run the new Advanced and Intermediate classes as planned, and as requested by the sport.

There has been a significant request for a BE90 to be added to the timetable, and unfortunately this is something that is not possible at this time. As many will be aware the original fences were sold and the incoming organisers were only able to acquire the 100 and Novice fences. Due to the nature of the fences needing to be moved it was not as easy to transport an additional 90 course, as it was going to be to add the Intermediate/Advanced.

All volunteers will be contacted in due course this week to update plans.

A few people have asked about the ground at Horseheath…it’s is PERFECT!

The estate team have been looking after it meticulously and it really is as good as you’ll get anywhere in the country, if not better!

The “bridge” over the ditch to link a new part of the course is complete and we’re now just very much hoping that people support the event.

WE NEED YOUR ENTRIES

We’re desperate to make the return of Horseheath to the British Eventing Official family one to remember, but to do that we need your support.

We need your entries by Tuesday so we can get cracking with the final build and the final investment.

There has already been SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT in fences for this event, as well as the investment in time to redesign the site and all new courses, plus in the general organisation which has been underway for months!

The ground is INCREDIBLE at the moment. It’s quite possibly going to be some of the very best in the country and we’ve just spent the weekend at Poplar that had amazing going!

If we don’t get the required entries and are forced to cancel (which we really really don’t want to do) all entries are refunded in FULL, extremely quickly. So please don’t worry that your finances will be affected and tied up for lengthy periods.

We REALLY want to make this event happen. We’ve got an army of volunteers geared up and ready to go. The courses are designed and ready to be put in place…we’ve even got the fancy marquee ordered and some many extras planned to make it a return with all the bells and whistles.

🆕🆕🆕🆕🆕🆕🆕🆕

A little more about the 🆕 developments for 2025

✅ The site layout will look quite different to those who visited previously. XC start is being relocated to what was once dressage on the far left of the venue as we look out on the XC course. This helps us create a more sweeping and flowing course that will also cover new ground to the right of the venue, crossing over into what was previously empty space in front of lorry parking.

SJ will move to the other side of the track running through the site, with dressage moving along to the lovely flat area that the SJ arena once occupied

☑️ A marquee is being added to the centre point of the venue with public & owners catering, creating an undercover viewing area that will look out over both the SJ and the XC. We wanted to create a central hub of the event and also give people a place to watch undercover should we have more March type weather!

☑️ Not only will the new courses feature fences previously seen at Horseheath but we have secured some of the fences from the Rockingham BE event, as well as utilising some fences from Little Downham, in addition to new permanent features.

🆓 to welcome in the start of a new event we’ll be running free admission for spectators, helping us showcase our wonderful sport to as many people as possible.

As we start the build up to the event we’re excited to share more information about the 🆕 look Horseheath 🐎

As building starts we’ll take followers behind the scenes for a sneak preview at some of the new fences, the new routes which encompass much more of the layout and some of the new features being added for the benefit of our competitors.

WE’RE BACK 🙌🙌🙌

By now you’ve probably seen the news from British Eventing Official that says we’re back in the calendar 🗓️ for 2025!!

🆕 Dates - 22-23 March
🆕 Organising team - Little Downham Horse Trials
🆕 Classes - we’re adding a brand new Intermediate and Advanced track
🆕 Layout - a complete rejig of the site to create enhanced XC courses, better locations for dressage and SJ and a central and undercover viewing area!
