A message from Geoff Williamson, Club Secretary

Gary Watson

It is with sadness that I have to inform you of Gary's passing. Gary was a member of KBC until a few years ago. After his wife died, he found it very hard to come to terms with his life. He was a great bowler who enjoyed his trips to Rothesay each year. A person who was easy to talk to, very pleasant, amenable and who always had a nice smile for everyone. He loved his trips to the 'Salmon Leap' in East Kilbride for a social drink, occasionally. After losing his driving licence through illness related issues, getting to the club became a problem. Lots of people will have fond memories of him. He will be wearing his Kirkhill Bowling Club jumper on his final journey. The club meant such a lot to him.

Sunday saw our last open tournament of the season with the Presidents Invitational Cup, sponsored by Bowling Green Services, being played for. The sun was out for a good part of the day and 24 triples took to the greens. It was home success for Kirkhill, who defeated the triple from Rutherglen in a keenly contested final.

Thanks to all the visiting teams who played and made the day a fantastic occasion. We look forward to welcoming you back next season!
