Artist Spotlight - The Laurettes

The 2024 Glen Scotia Whisky West Coast Rocks Concert features three fantastic bands on Saturday August 24. Trad Live Band of the year, Trail West headline the concert with support from Rhuvaal and The Laurettes who open the concert in Campbeltown’s Victoria Hall. This is a night that promises a full festival experience in one concert.

The Laurettes are a four-piece Scottish band made up of all female musicians and have been described as a ‘Powerful Indie Folk Fusion band with a Celtic Rock twist.’ The girls are making big noise around Scotland, the UK and very soon to be further afield. They have frequented many festivals including Tiree Music Festival, Islay Whisky Festival, Mull Music Festival and Rally, Doune The Rabbit Hole, Eden, Lindisfarne, Bute Fest and many more. They have become well known and cherished for their ‘electric positive vibes’, alongside their energy and ability to get the full crowd involved including over 60,000 Rugby fans at Murrayfield.

On Sat afternoon at Doon the Green you can get a preview of the night time performance from The Laurettes 2 piece band as they make a surprise appearance at this event along with Tommy and Stuart Blue and much more.

Concert Spotlight - Glen Scotia Whisky West Coast Rocks Concert

On Saturday Aug 24 the Victoria Hall opens its doors for our MOK Fest 2024 Glen Scotia West Coast Rocks Concert. The concert headlines with the MG ALBA Scots Trad Live band of the year for 2023, Trail West making a welcome return to the event. They will be supported by Rhuvaal performing at the festival for the first time in two years. The Laurettes making their festival debut open this concert which promises to deliver the full-on west coast festival experience in the Victoria Hall.

Last years sell out concert rocked the Victoria Hall and all three bands have promised to do the same again this year. We are delighted with the response to this year’s line-up which has been fantastic and many of the concerts are heading for capacity crowds. Band Spotlight - Argyll Ceilidh Trail

The MOK Fest Ceilidh Night is now one of the events most popular concerts with its family favourite atmosphere, featuring some of the best of the Scottish ceilidh and concert bands. This year’s Ceilidh Night which is held in the Victoria Hall, Campbeltown on Aug 23rd is no exception with a fantastic line-up of Grouse Ceilidh Band, Argyll Ceilidh Trail and the Dalriada Connections Band. The concert opens with a rousing performance from Kintyre Schools Pipe Band following a performance at Old Quay Head.

The Argyll Ceilidh Trail is five young, up-and-coming musicians showcasing their music across Argyll and the Isles for four weeks prior to the festival. We are delighted to have them perform once again at this year’s festival. The group includes Gregor Niven on accordion, Edie Elliot on fiddle, Fiona Cruickshank on fiddle and piano, Owen Stark on Drum kit and Dylan Howe on guitar.

The Ceilidh Trail musicians wowed the Saturday night audiences at both concerts last year so we can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us this year.

The doors open to this years Kilkerran Single Malt Survivors Night on Aug 25th in just seven weeks.

The concert headlines with Campbeltown super-group Slainte Davaar Allstars with a fantastic set of new tracks. The Kintyre Schools Pipe Band will perform once again following a hugely welcome return and performance at last years concert. We are also delighted to have We.R.Soul with their powerhouse vocals, rhythm sections and dazzling horns performing and we have a host of other bands and musicians still to announce. Hi everyone,

It's been a while since we posted anything so we thought we would give you an update on our plans.

We have our usual meetings in Campbeltown (Stronvaar) Bowling Club today and next Tue (9th July), we will be have our usual chats and laughs along with tea, coffee and biscuits. The meetings are held from 2.00pm - 4.00pm

On July 16th we will be going on an away day trip to Carradale Heritage Centre and then onto Carradale Hotel- Bar and Restaurant .

On July 23rd we are delighted to have a talk from Jan Nimmo on her Road to Drumlemon project. We will post more information on our plans prior to each event.

If you are of retirement age or have an interest in the history of Campbeltown and the surrounding area please come along and join us.

Band Spotlight - Dàna

This year’s Traditional Concert in Campbeltown Heritage Centre on August 23rd headlines with legendary singer songwriter Dougie MacLean. The concert will also feature the debut of a great young band, Dàna who will open the concert.

Dàna are a new and exciting all-female band in their final year studying Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

The band consists of Alex Wotherspoon on piano, Laura Penman on harp, Anna Robertson on fiddle, Eleanor Tout on whistle and Emma Hill on bagpipes. With being a part of the traditional music scene in Glasgow, the girls are driven and are looking forward to allowing more people to listen to their traditional and folk arrangements in the up-and-coming months. Dàna have a busy summer of gigs across Scotland ahead of them, therefore they are sure not to be missed at MOK Fest 2024 this August

The Dalriada Connections Concert on Sunday Aug 25th in Campbeltown Heritage Centre.

This afternoon concert is now one of the festival favourites with it's mixture of local and visiting musician and we have a real treat for the audience with two wonderful headline acts. The Sarachs featuring Anne Leith, Les Oman and Alex Johnson performing a set full of Kintyre songs before The Canny Band, performing for the first time at the festival. They will be joined by a host of guest musician including Scooter Muse (USA) and Ciaran Mulholland (NI) and Lorne MacDougall.

Our Spoons Young Folk Night has is now well established as one of the favourite concerts over the five-day event. The concert takes place in Campbeltown Heritage Centre on Aug 22nd and once again features some of the best young musicians from Kintyre and the surrounding area.

This hugely popular concert has, over the years featured performances from Campbeltown Brass, Kintyre Schools Pipe Band, The James McCorkindale School of Highland Dance as well as many fantastic individual and group performances from local singers, musicians, and dancers. This year is no exception, and you can expect some special performances from some of Kintyre’s best young musicians and dancers.

This years MOK Fest Ceilidh Night on Friday Aug 23rd has a fantastic line-up of bands with Grouse Ceilidh Band, The Argyll Ceilidh Trail and the Dalriada Connections Band. The concert opens with a rousing performance from Kintyre Schools Pipe Band following a performance at Old Quay Head.

We are delighted to welcome back the fantastic who had the whole dance floor bouncing when they performed at our Ceilidh Night in 2018. The band have promised a great night of dance tunes and songs so be sure to bring your dancing shoes with you.
