Here are a few moments captured at the epic and very festive ‘Joy to the World’ concert on 6/12/24. Over 200 performers from across the Junior and Senior school, as well as a full audience, gathered for this evening of fun and outstanding music making!

Just before leaving for Florence, we enjoyed a wonderful end of term celebration assembly. This included a superb performance of O Holy Night from our ‘Two Tenors’ Thomas and Wolfgang, accompanied by year 11/12 instrumentalists. We also presented Year 13 music scholars Charlotte, Eleanor and Hunter with full colours in recognition of their exceptional contribution to music over many years.

We have just arrived back from a most memorable few days in Florence. The choir has given performances in some stunning buildings including Badia Fiorentina, Santa Croce Basilica, St James Episcopal Church and Santi Apostoli, where we were so well received by large audiences and congregations. The choir was on top form, and we have also visited galleries, taken part in workshops in art restoration and sculpting, as well as enjoying some lovely food and great company! Well done to everyone. A wonderful school Carol Service in Canterbury Cathedral. There was some really splendid choral singing from the three senior school choirs, as well as fine solos from Rufus, Charlotte and Thomas, whilst Hunter accompanied one of Sedecim’s items beautifully on the flute. Congratulations to Senior Choir, Cantabile Voices and Sedecim, and thank you to everyone involved in making this such a special occasion.

Amazing that so many KC musicians could be involved in the incredible ‘Brain Tumour Charity’ concert on Friday evening organised by Paul Bourdillon. The concert was brilliantly compèred by year 12 students Raif and Cameron, and alongside a fantastic ensemble of professional wind players, there were fine performances by Sedecim, Cantabile Voices, Jazz Band, Year 8 singers and sax/clarinet quartets. So far the evening raised just short of £10.000!!! If you can help towards pushing this comfortably over the 10k mark, here is the link to donate.
