Within 12 hours of the curtain falling on the final evening of our fabulous production of ‘Singin in the Rain’, it was a pleasure to welcome over 30 talented young musicians from schools across the region to start preparing for this year’s Canterbury Festival Youth Orchestra concert. This year Kent College will be hosting this special event, with the concert in the Great Hall conducted by Director Music Julian Ross on Tuesday 22nd October.

Lots of wonderful music at speech day, including performances from the Flute Group, Jazz Band and Sedecim. Also the day when we sadly have to say goodbye to some really amazing students who have given so much to the musical life of the school. However, a wonderful day of celebration today and amazing to be performing all together one last time with our ‘outgoing’ Year 13s. Well done to everyone and thank you for a most memorable musical year!

Five of Kent College’s most accomplished soloists performed to a full cathedral audience alongside the London Welsh Male Voice Choir. Stunning solos from Florence (year 10) on the cello and Emily (year 11) on the flute, as well as a beautiful vocal trio from Tom (year 9), Poppy (year 10) and Martha (year8). It was a real honour to be a part of this very special concert and KC musicians did themselves proud! Kent College Canterbury
