Wilding and re-wilding are hot topics for us. The water meadows are left to let nature take its course. In winter the water meadows are water logged which means that over time peat forms. Peat is formed from decomposed plants which means they are a natural store for atmospheric carbon. This provides a net -cooling effect which helps to mitigate the climate crisis.

We are family run wedding venue, set on my parents eco farm. Sheep, cattle, badgers and even beavers live on the water meadow. We have been part of a re-wilding project for nearly 30 years and evidence of the success of this shown in the vast array of rare birds, dragonflys and other flora and fauna which are thriving.
