🎄 Jessie Loves Christmas! 🎄

Christmas is such an exciting time for babies, so much to see and so much to talk about. Make the very most of it with our colourful lift-the-flap 'Jessie Loves Christmas'! 🥳

We see Jessie in her home with her Christmas tree , playing with friends, meeting a reindeer and even Santa while learning lots of festive signs. 🎄🎅

An additional way to enjoy this book is our suggestion at the end that you and your baby look through again to find certain colours, and all the colour signs are demonstrated to help your baby talk about them. 🎨

We are heading into the final week of our Autumn term classes! Here’s little Leo who has almost been with us for a whole year and he’s signing has come on so well, so proud of him!

Week 10!

👩‍🍼 In babes class we are discovering the magic of conversation! 🗣️ From the delightful sounds of baby chatter to the art of waiting and listening for responses, each moment is a step towards communication.

👶 In Stage One, our littles have been exploring signs for their family while revisiting some favourite signs from earlier this term.

👧🏼 Stage Twos are wrapping up with speech activities that make learning fun and engaging!

🌍 As World Nursery Rhyme Week is drawing to a close, here are some of the benefits of regularly singing nursery rhymes with your little ones…

💙 Nursery rhymes are repetitive, which allows our little ones to hear the words and see the actions over and over again. This supports the development of their language skills and their understanding of rhythm and rhyme.

💛 Little ones love to hear their carers voice and see their facial expressions during songs and rhymes. This can strengthen the parent-child bond.

💙 Nursery rhymes can be linked to routines (we love to do this at Sing and Sign). This helps little ones to understand their daily activities and develop language related to their routines.

Week Eight

👶🏽 Our babes have been experiencing the joy and benefit of being consistent… in the class structure and content, in daily routines and language-use and in planned activities with their grown ups (games, books, songs & rhymes)… fostering a sense of calm contentedness and a perfect environment for learning 🧠

👶🏻 Our Stage 1s have been exploring the power of HELP and OPEN… thinking about situations where we can encourage our little ones to understand the concept and be guided in beginning to express when they need assistance 🤝

👧🏻 Our Stage 2s have continued with their phonics ! (I-P) Noticing and learning the initial sounds in words is a fantastic foundation for later learning… and is one of the building blocks for reading 📖. I spy with my little eye, something beginning with…… /c/ 🐾

🎶 At Sing and Sign, music plays a very important part in our classes. Some of our songs are accompanied by music, while others we sing without music and we also enjoy playing instruments during our classes.

💙 Did you know that the parts of the brain that are used to develop musical skills and speech are overlapping? This means that exposure to music and nursery rhymes can help with speech development!

💛 Exposure to music also helps babies to use rhythmic cues to understand where words begin and how they are grouped together, which in turn supports language development.

👶🏼 This week in Babes we talk about consistency - Continuing to sign key parts of your day such as ‘milk’ ‘all gone’ & ‘change nappy’ will support your routines and being consistent helps create a safe space for your little one! 🧠

🤕 Stage 1 families are learning the signs for ‘ouch’ & ‘pain’ - these signs are really important for your little one to tell you when they are in pain.
