We had an absolutely amazing time at the Sherman Theatre last Wednesday with the Schools Shakespeare Festival and Fairfield Primary School and their fantastic production of The Winters Tale. Here’s a few snaps from their dress rehearsal in some of our costumes!

Amazing busy day today at our Costume and Prop making workshop for The Wizard of Oz!
We made chicks and apples and prepared lots of felt cut outs and floaty net for costumes! Well done gang, it was fab to have you all there, you all worked really hard!!!

What a fantastic cosplay!

Ahoy Mateys! For the 2017 Next Level of Cosplay Scholarship we are featuring each of the five finalists with a spotlight. From across the pond in Devon, England, we have Alex 'Lexi' Gilbert and her Davy Jones cosplay from “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Lexi decided to take on the challenge of Davy Jones because the character was originally an entirely CGI creation. She was determined to create a character with a multitude of details! For her entry Lexi not only sculpted and cast every piece of her appliance but she was very innovative with every element of her costume.

She made her claw using papier-mâché and garden wire, collected seashells from the beach near her home and the heart was constructed from a cheap stress ball she altered to look like a realistic organ. On top of these finds, she weathered fabric with a cheese grater and glued on over 700 seashells. Shiver me timbers!

Junior Sew School will be starting classes in The Talent Shack on Mondays at 4.30pm until 5.30pm in term time. The first class will be on Monday 8th May. Class sizes are small so book your place now!

Whew! We've had such a fab day making masses of Pom poms for our Seussical trees and the clover patch and lots of fabulous Whovian headdresses for our Whoville citizens! Well done gang!! Looking forward to another making day in the May holiday!
