Hey everyone! Did you know that Game Dev Cardiff is a not-for-profit organisation?

We'll be hosting a prize draw at our December meet up to raise funds to contribute towards the venue costs for Global Game Jam in January.

We hope that by raising these funds, the jam will be either free of charge, or at a minimal price for community members to take part.

Thank you to all the fantastic local game companies who have donated a prize 🥳

Hi folks, an update:

Due to last-minute changing schedules over the weekend, unfortunately we will have to cancel the talks event next week - we have been informed by our speakers that they are not able to make it, and there simply isn't enough time to reasonably arrange replacements with this short notice.

Apologies for this one, friends. Rest assured we're currently redirecting focus to GGJ and the next talks event in the new year. (And the other stuff!)

Hiya folks, cheeky update of upcoming stuff: We are holding our next industry talks event at Porters on Monday the 18th of November! Speakers TBA, sit tight and we'll let you know the full deets as they get locked in.

Secondly, we're excited to confirm we will be hosting Global Game Jam 2025 next January! (Jamuary, if you will??) Similarly to the above, we'll be updating you on the nitty gritty as we go along.

We've got some other stuff cooking behind the scenes too, but that's enough excitement for now. Watch this space, and we'll see you at the social meet next week!

Quick heads-up for our Cardiff folks, we will be meeting in NQ64 this Thursday for a chill bonus Halloween social!

We'll be hosting our Halloween party at NQ64 on the 31st of October at 7pm 🎃

There will be prizes for best dressed!

Heyo everyone, just us again, swingin in to confirm the next usual social meet is on the 12th of September!

And just as another note, we've had a few lovely folks from the community recently bring along laptops, tablets, and physical prototypes to show their game concepts or recent projects with everyone. Us volunteers just wanted to say that that's awesome, this is 100% something you can do - and is highly encouraged!! - for our events. If you've been working on something you'd like to bring along to show off, get some feedback etc, please feel free to do so! We'd love to see what you've been tinkering with. 💕
