Good morning!
First of all, thank you so much for supporting the event! We’ve sold out our allocation at Goodsheds, which is great considering it’s our first event in Barry.
However, it has just come to our attention that Goodsheds are also hosting a live music event, from 12pm til late, including choirs and bands (event poster attached). It was my understanding that, although we didn't have the full hire of Goodsheds and other members of the public would be there, there wouldn’t be any other events that might make the venue unsuitable for large dogs on this day.
Ozzy’s Big Dog Cafe is about creating a safe and welcoming environment for larger breeds, rescues, reactive dogs and dogs learning to socialise. We feel that continuing with today’s event, with the likelihood that the music event will also attract larger groups people, smaller dogs and potentially stressful situations. As responsible event organisers, we do not feel comfortable hosting our event in this environment.
We’re really sorry about the last minute decision, and we were really looking forward to today, however we feel this is the best decision to make.
Our walk on Barry Island beach WILL still be going ahead as planned. Meeting at Marco’s Cafe at 10am, walking from 10.30 and finishing at 12. Hope to see you all there
