CLOSING DOWN SALE!

Consider this my official announcement. After 5 years of successful shoe making I have decided to hang up my Cobbler hat for the time-being. I had become too reliant on Etsy and anyone whos seen the news lately will know what Im referring to 🙏

I am however now in a position to work on my film & photography (including weddings 😁).

But I need you all to buy my left-over stock so I can invest in equipment upgrades 🙌

Hello my beautiful most appreciated customers and followers alike 🌹
If you are or know any etsy sellers then you will have heard of the latest absolute abuse they are committing against their own clients.
Etsy tout the lines "hand-made, and transparent" .... yet they have made it almost impossible for those of us who actually hand-make things to continue doing so.
By keeping 75% of a new sale they are removing the funds we use to pay for materials and tracked/insured postage.
Not only this but they refuse to give any given shop the actual reason for being put in reserve, instead serving a small (non comprehensive) list of potential reasons, none of which fit the shop stats, served from a robot email (nomatter how many times you seek or ask for a human being).

So no supporting hand-made and no transparency.

I have a 5* rating in my shop (which by the way blows over the poor 1.6 rating etsy now have on Trust Pilot) I provide detailed tracking, and I have an appropriate processing time for a hand-made wedding item.

As you will see from some of the statements from other sellers below, there is no just cause for holding on to peoples hard earned money in this way.

Given the shady operation of this new increase in holding funds, I find it difficult to believe that the bankruptcy of Silicone Valley Bank back in March (Etsys big pertnership) has nothing to do with Etsy holding peoples money....accruing and then skimming the millions of dollars in interest, keeping their own butts afloat while we all fall behind on bills because we don't have access to our own funds.

Disgraceful behaviour from an e-commerce site that likes to act like its a cut above and more ethical than the rest. At least the rest are honest about how they are taking your money.

This has all been very upsetting, not only to me but to thousands of small businesses that have come to rely and make a living from our sales on the platform.

Regardless, we must stand together if we are ever to affect any change ❤

I know crafters that would cry at the lack of uniformity in my embellishments, but I've never believed art should be perfect and actually love the extra texture that various sizes and colours brings... you pick the hue (which will give the overall colour of the shoe), but when you look closely; there is more detail than you might expect to find....

Plus, boy do they sparkle when you walk!
