Peacefully, with his family at his side, our Graham passed away last night.

Graham was almost a lifelong friend of Rod, his best friend who he loved and respected. In fact, Graham was more like a father, as his wife Lilian, a mother.
Graham was responsible for starting Rods love of pigeon racing. So you could say without Graham, there'd be no Lovey Dovey UK.

Graham looked after our birds, feeding them if we were out at events, helping with their training, building and maintenance of our lofts and sheds, and taking over when we went on holiday.

His kind, generous nature was always clear to see.
He will be sorely missed by us, and we are deeply saddened by his loss.

But our hearts and thoughts are with his family now, Lilian his wife Karen and Gary his children and Ioan his son in law. Such a lovely warm family.

RIP Graham, you were a one of kind gentlemen.

Growing our own lilies.

These were planted with a pack of wild flower seeds given to us by one of our families following their daughters funeral service.

Not sure of the names of them all, they bloom at different times and are beautiful.

Roses were planted where we keep some of the water barrels...by Rod:)

Wonder how long our birds will refrain from pecking off the petals? 🙈

3 beautiful doves fly in tribute to a very much loved mother and grandmother at Thornhill recently.

This is Joe, pecking at the roses. He is a fabulous bird, but once he starts, the others follow.
Good job we always carry extra flowers as well as extra doves with us 😊

Over the years, we have seen a few posts from people saying the doves released at events don't return home, that they are often bred in captivity and let out to fly for the first time at an event.

Not ours!

These are our 2024 babies.

They've been all around South East Wales now, honing their natural ability to home, and getting fitter and fitter with each flight.

They can be seen here being released from Glyntaff, Pontypridd common, Llechwen Hall (with the help of some of the lovely ladies there!) Hensol Castle, and Newport. There have been lots of other places too!

Now, they are ready for their first event on Monday!

Fabulous, strong, intelligent and beautiful 😍

From almost the beginning, we have a family of birds that moult out as pure whites, then back with a black skirt.

We can normally manage this, but we had 2 nest mates hatch out this year, one pure white, the other with more than the usual markings.
He is absolutely stunning!

He is what's known as a Grizzle, and like Rod, can be a bit grumpy🤣

However, it's nice to see Rod holding a bird, something he's not been able to do for the last 3 weeks. So he's smiling today😊

I think our doves look absolutely fantastic here, flying home from Court Colman Manor .

I released them at this years gathering for Cymru
and Gareth from the team captured the doves flying off.
Always lovely to see them, and we look forward to doing it again next year!

What a beautiful, peaceful resting place Llanfabon Cemetery is. It's been many years since we've been here.
A single dove flying in honour of a much loved and missed gentleman, who used to walk these country roads to get away from the noise of life❤️

For the 10th year, AASC booked us to release doves at their annual gathering to raise awareness for their charity.
A support group that aids people and families affected by asbestos related illnesses in Wales.

Its all about getting our birds home.
Without this, we have no service to offer.

Training our birds is a crucial part of our business. It keeps our doves safe, and our customers happy.
Their fitness is integral. They could find their way home from anywhere, but if they're not fit enough to make the journey, they won't make it home.

Even during lockdown where we didn't do any events for 6 weeks, our birds were trained to keep them fit and sharp.

𝔸 ℂ𝕖𝕝𝕖𝕓𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕠𝕗 𝕃𝕚𝕗𝕖 When a family choose to hold a celebration in honour of their loved ones on a different day to the funeral service, our service can be a focal point with which to start. A lovely family chose us last week to do just this, and it was an honour for us to have been chosen. Memories of a much loved lady were shared, and the closeness of her family clear to see.

14 of our babies trained today from Hensol Castle, and beat us home. Thank you to our friends at the Castle for lending us their beautiful lawn🙏😍

Yesterday we had a "day off" from events, but there's still loads to do behind the scenes. We took our babies with Rods racers to Thornhill Cemetery for more training. They found their route very quickly in comparison to the previous training flight, and all beat us home - showing how quickly they learn. Rod will be unable to drive for the next few weeks, and his pain relief makes him sleepy. I will be so happy when the cast is off and he's back to normal, no days off for me for the foreseeable 🙈 But I do enjoy training the birds😊🕊🕊

Training our babies with Rods pigeons. They need this to build stamina. As we take them further and further away, they not only learn to sharpen their navigational ability, but learn to fly out of a basket and head straight home. Amazing creatures.

We were very grateful for our Megan's help today. We may only be a little family, but we are always there for each other, and muck in when needed with our little business. Meg wants the week off school so she can help every day🤣

A lovely hour at Llechwen Hall Hotel today. Training our babies is necessary to ensure their safe return home as they build stamina and geographical awareness. Today they had the help of some of the lovely team from Llechwen, Melanie & Emma. Thank you ladies for your help! And thanks to Llechwen for lending us their beautiful grounds, and a nice hot cuppa to warm us up afterward. (Can you believe we are saying that in June?!) Birds home before us, although we did have 1 that decided to do his own thing and fly alone! 🙈

We are the only recommended Dove Release supplier for dozens of wedding venues throughout the area, and have built a reputation for being reliable, trustworthy, professional and friendly. , but mostly because of the care people know we give to our flock. We are also recommended and the first point of contact for most funeral directors throughout SE Wales. We have seen many try to copy our words, our photos, even the way we decorate our cages, we have been undercut and even on a couple of occasions others have told people they are us! - they have come, and gone, but we are still here! We are unique and original and have many returning customers. We run our business with openness, honesty and integrity, and are very proud of our reputation in both the wedding and funeral industries.

The ONLY dove we keep within our business is The Rock Dove which is the same as a White Homing Pigeon. They have a natural homing ability and are the only doves anyone should use for release purposes. We do not release fantails or garden doves, or any other breed of dove, or even display them.
