Today i have been revisiting our trip to Java, Indonesia and the Borobudur Temple. Built in the 8-9th Century and ''laid out in the form of a lotus, the sacred flower of Buddha, Borobudur Temple Compounds is an exceptional reflection of a blending of the very central idea of indigenous ancestor worship and the Buddhist concept of attaining Nirvana. The ten mounting terraces of the entire structure correspond to the successive stages that the Bodhisattva has to achieve before attaining to Buddhahood.'' (wiki)
We hiked in the early hours to the hilltop to see sunrise over the complex, however the jungles humidity does not allow the best view and you need a bit more luck to see the morning rays on the complex.
This place was amazing and well worth the long journey to get there, especially as the next stop would be Lombok
