In July, I venture to Leominster where I was welcomed back by the beautiful Martha and her family. I had previously met Martha and family two years ago when I worked on her sister Harriet’s wedding. What was lovely about this wedding too, was that I got to work with the same great team of suppliers that I had worked with two years previously. The Harries’ are such a warm and welcoming family, and you can see from the photos that Martha has quite the zest for life and fun! The party began at bridal prep and judging by the footage I’ve seen since … didn’t stop all day!

It was a pleasure to create this gorgeous look for Martha’s bridal make up, and so lovely to be welcomed back by the family to share in another special day. ♥️

Hi 👋🏻

Thought I’d come and say hello and re introduce myself as I have quite a lot of new followers here.
Also because I was playing around with a few new products today and ended up creating a very bridal make up look on myself.

If you’re new here - I’m Kirsty, and have been a make up artist for 19 years. Ive worked on everything from London Fashion Week, Magazine Shoots, been featured in Vogue, TV work, Fashion & Beauty Editorials, Brand work and so much more. But bridal and beauty make up has always had my heart.

I’ve been a Bridal Make Up Artist for 15 of those years and have worked of upwards of 1000 weddings. That’s one heck of a lot of gorgeous brides and bridesmaids, Mum’s and special women in your life.

I love my job, making others feel good about themselves and boosting their confidence is something I feel privileged to be able to do, and when I get to do the final reveal when I’ve completed a make up look, it’s so rewarding knowing that you’ve been that little part of someone’s day that actually turns out to be a pretty huge deal for them and how confident and great they feel for the rest of that day and beyond. You can’t put a price on how good it feels to make someone else feel good. That stuff is gold. ✨

Such a please to work on the wonderful Sophie & Steve’s wedding at Santffraed House back in June. Sophie’s styling was so elegant and effortless with that gorgeous pop of colour from her stunning bouquet … just dreamy. Sophie runs her own wedding stationery business so I knew this wedding was going to have some supreme touches of style and attention to detail.

She chose a relaxed hair and make up style opting for soft neutrals and fresh glowy skin to compliment her beautiful satin dress.

In Memory of Claire 🕊️

This is the lovely Claire. Some of you may remember this photo from 5 years ago when I met Claire who was a bridesmaid at her friend’s wedding I was booked to work on.

Claire was battling cancer and going through chemo at the time I met her. Very sadly she battled this awful disease since, enduring countless treatments, operations, procedures alongside everything else that goes along with fighting cancer during that time. I’m re sharing this because Claire heartbreakingly lost her battle to cancer a few weeks ago after a tremendous fight.

She displayed endless positivity and courage throughout and was such an inspiration. I have followed her journey since I met her, and have nothing but admiration for her and the way she fought her illness all while being a wife and a mother to two small boys. Claire was hilarious and genuine and kind. She had a personality that would light up any room. In a few minutes of meeting her she had me laughing (at herself no less) and that no doubt has been an antidote to all while supporting her on this journey.

So Claire this post is for you. Know that you are an inspiration to many, including myself and I will always remember you fondly. What a warrior. ❤️

Getting in some down time before a manic wedding season kicks in.

I’ve seen a lot of posts lately about comparison and self worth. I get it, I feel it myself sometimes. Mostly in my work life and it can sometimes feel like a constant cycle of up and down.

I never post much of my personal life on social media but sharing a few windows into my life now and again I’m ok with. No-ones life is as plain sailing and perfect as social media would have you believe. Mine definitely isn’t, don’t let the squares you see online suck you into thinking otherwise. Grateful for the quiet and humbling moments that the simple things can bring.

I’m am really loving the natural looks at the moment - and given we all need a little pick me right now to get us used to getting out the door in record speed again this look is perfectly polished! And perfect for the brides who love a really natural look too! 👌🏼

There is something really underrated about a completely fresh & natural look - it’s not as simple and easy to perfect as it looks but I find light layers and pressure as well sometimes mixing your own texture works really well . And when done right is can be a really beautiful look.

18 YEARS AND COUNTING..... ✨

This year marks 18 years in the make up industry for me, a significant milestone and scary one thinking about how quickly that time has passed.

I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself again as it’s been a few years since I’ve done so.

My background is in Music and Fine Art. As I was approaching my university years I found it a struggle to settle on which path to follow, so I embarked on a Music Degree at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama - studying to become a classical singer, before returning to the Art scene and graduating with a Fine Art degree. While studying for that degree I took a part time job in a photography studio and here my interest in make up peaked. I didn’t look back - after I graduated I worked my way up to a managerial role at the studio before taking my journey to MAC and enrolling to study Media, Theatrical , SFX Hair & Make Up - a course I then went on to teach!

I spent 6 years at MAC working for a company I absolutely loved, experienced exceptional training and guidance and made some amazing friends for life too!

My advice- Don’t give up on your dreams! The 12 year old in me never thought I could realistically become a make up artist when I grew up! And yet here I am 26 years later, still loving my job more than ever and living out my dream.

Over that past 18 years I have worked on hundreds of weddings and thousands of faces and to say I’m truly thankful that year on year I’m kept fully booked and busy is a huge understatement. ♥️
