Here at Old Post House we are looking for an experienced chef to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for cooking fresh food & using local produce.

Location: Old Post House, St Fagans. Driving is a must due to location & lack of public transport.

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience. Equal share of tips.

Hours: 40 per week

Days: 5 days from 7 (2 full days off each week together, maximum of 3 evenings per week, either a Friday or Saturday night off each week & every Sunday evening off.)

Job description: We are seeking a skilled & experienced chef to become part of our team. Duties to include preparing & cooking menu items according to recipes & quality standards. Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner. Follow proper food handling & safety procedures. Maintain cleanliness & organization of the kitchen area. Previous experience in restaurant & events. Strong culinary techniques & food preparation. Excellent attention to detail & organization skills. Knowledge of food safety regulations.

We operate all day - breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas, event catering, dinners, weddings & Sunday lunches.

We pride ourselves on our homemade, fresh menu - especially our fish options & homemade desserts.

As a business though we also understand there needs to be a work life balance, so 2 days off a week together & either Friday or Saturday night off. Every Sunday evening off. No more than 3 evenings per week!

We are closed Monday 25th & Tuesday 26th, apologies for any inconvenience.

We are closed because of work taking place in the kitchens, which is all part of our growth & expansion plan.

All of our building work has now been done & with the new kitchen equipment going in today/tomorrow, we will be fully fitted ready for reopening Wed 27th.

Very excited to have our new kitchen fully up & running!
