A strong stance here, I’m holding it together *just* as I put out the last of this year’s posies at the wonderful farm shop.

A huge thank you to everyone that’s supported me and the flowers this year, it’s been a great one!

I’m already busy planting out next year’s little flower seedlings and I’ll be sharing some of the goings on over the winter season here and some exciting things still to come before the year is out 🙏🏼🫶🏼

Here I am sorting through some of this week’s orders - a job normally done in the studio but today the task was performed in the entrance of the windy tunnel. Not great for my massive hair but wonderful for blow drying the flowers after an unexpected rain.

Hi Guys! Happy Friday!!!!

I have just realised it’s been a million years since my last post - so here’s me and some dahlias from this morning to remind you all I’m still alive and doing the flowers :) It’s been soooo busy over here 🥳

Loads of exciting things have been going on!!! Thousands of flowers have been sent off to their glorious flowery destiny, I’ve been totally bamboozling myself with next years farm plans, we’ve received insane amounts of bulbs and corms (so much the kids have to clamber over boxes to get in the door), sowing seeds for overwintering and prepping their beds, I’ve been flowering up events and travelling to meet up with other wonderful flower farmers not to mention trying to get production started on the gorgeous overalls (some people are out sowing seeds rather than overalls. Me, it’s me)

Exciting times but I feel the field starting to slow down as we head towards the end of the season. I’m not ready so just pretending it’s not happening for now…
Happy weekend ahead everyone, my lovely posies are out for the weekend if you’re near by 🫶🏼

Yesterday I had the ultimate pleasure of flowering up and then heading out with the team at to try out their brand new Highland Coo experience!!

We started off in the tea room with hot drinks, yummy rolls and some lovely info from Sue about the estate, their history and the wonderful team then off out on a Farmer led tractor ride (via a quick peek into Wylde Florence 🎉).

It was totally amazing to see a demonstration from Farmer Grant and sheepdog Meg, getting to see the highland coos up so close - they really are incredible (and my new hair inspo) all backed by that to die for view.

We finished up heading through Monty’s, feeding very, very cute baby goats and a delicious afternoon tea up in the cow shed with sunlight streaming in.

A glorious day and filled with lovey people too. Thanks so much Team Monty 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Some ethereal, romantic flowers off out for orders today (along with some serious burnt, cozy autumnal tones too).

The lighter colours have been slow coming through this year, like they know the rain is too heavy for their lovely petals. With the rain comes more wastage than normal - ruined petals, snapped stems… so I really enjoyed these precious blooms in their lovely delicate shades staring back at me this morning before the mad waterslide/dash of the school run. Like a walk in paradise.

I’ll post some of the burnt delights over in stories. Pumpkin spice has arrived.

A week in flower land.

And what a wet, windy old week it’s been - I’ve been soaked and frizzy 99% of the time but the flowers (amazingly) are still pumping out the blooms.

Lots of wholesale and DIY bucket deliveries out this week, plus my own lovely posies in farm shop on Friday.

The poly tunnel is so lush with growth, I can’t really get up the paths anymore and I’m climbing things to cut the towering blooms… v jungly and exciting in there just now. The secret garden is full of happy dahlia plants with loads of buds still to burst open. I welcomed new dahlia varieties with joy and (not pictured) my big new industrial sewing machine arrived just in time for the leaves turning.

We’re all cozy in the house, about to light the fire and tuck into boiled eggs and soldiers then off to see some jazz this afternoon 🎉 I hope you all have a happy Sunday whatever you may be up to lovely flower friends 🫶🏼

My own wee posies are out at farm shop for the weekend. Wayhey!

I love making them up, after a big week of selling wholesale buckets of flowers to event florists, retail outlets and DIY customers I relish the chance to create some little worlds of my own.

They’re super gorgeous this week with the arrival of the double rose lilies (which are also pollen free). These combined with dahlias, pink cornflowers, ruffled madam butterfly snap dragons, annual phlox and my favourite sprinkle of silene to add a bit of movement are whimsical romance at its finest.

All of the posies are completely unique - no bouquet recipes here. Happy Friday!

Another day, another collarette dahlia winning best flower of the day. I’m not sure how I feel about that actually because there’s been loads of best flowers of the day today…

There’s something about these, I think it may be the hint of Elizabethan ruff that is the collarette petals, they’re so fabulous.

There’s a storm outside!!!! I woke up this morning, just before 5 with thunder roaring in through the window - how exciting!

It’s still quite dark here with big cloudbursts happening so I thought I’d post this bright and very pretty collarette dahlia ‘Edith Jones’ to combat the grey. I cut this yesterday, what a drastic contrast to this mornings weather!

Collarette dahlias are so beautiful - much like the single types they don’t have a very good vase life but I’ll always grow them and add them in because however fleeting, their delicate beauty should be enjoyed.

Beautiful roses in shades of milky Earl Grey tea and peach for your Sunday morning viewing.

These beauts were grown undercover, protected from the harsh summer elements they’ve started their second flush of the year, with the outdoor plants blooming slightly later creating a handy succession to prolong the cutting window.

On a side note - the plants are so tall in the tunnel I had to climb up on a step to cut them, the air up there was so heavily perfumed it was amazing, like I’d discovered a different world. Wonderful things.

Just look at them. Gorgeous.

Things are hot in the garden. Obviously not temperature wise - colour wise. Autumn tones are here early in keeping with the weird seasons.

I love this combo more and more, sumptuous, rich and luxurious like silk velvet. Or a gorgeous cocktail bar at night. I’m still waiting on the big soft pinks coming through, the cafe au laits are in bud so not too long before it’s oyster pink overload. So let’s basque in these opulent hues for a while, make mine a spicy marg. Friday thoughts 😆

Happy Sunday Flower lovers!

This photo is of a climbing rose (one of three) I put in nearly two years ago to clamber along and adorn my fence at the Wylde Florence main garden within

The other two have been glorious, I cut from both this year but this one really hadn’t been going well. It was terribly stunted, black spot, deformed flowers, I was actually going to give up on it earlier this year. But now it’s blooming the most incredible giant ombré blooms and throwing out strong new red shoots galore. It makes me SO happy every time I walk past I’m smiling. Maybe by next year it’ll be ready to cut from but for now there’s something special about being able to just enjoy the flowers.

It’s Eden Rose 88 by the way - a luxurious double cupped flower introduced in 1988 from a French renaissance collection. Completely worth the nurturing, I’m off to just enjoy the flowers today before the whirlwind of cutting begins again, hope you get a chance to too ✌🏼

Gorgeous warm sunset tones for our DIY wedding couple yesterday. A sumptuous mix of dahlias, rudbeckia, martagon lily, Madame butterfly snaps, perfumed ruffled roses, cosmos, frilly scented sweet peas, crocosmia (pulled with corm so the couple can plant some in their own garden) and beautiful nasturtium trails to drape the tables.

A blast of colour therapy for me too, and everyone passing that commented - pure, feel good, colour therapy 💞

Wonderful piece in today’s Herald on Wylde Florence! Thanks so much to Paul English for the lovely chat.

Also - first mention of something I’ve been working on behind the scenes. I’ve been designing, sampling and creating a range of floriculture inspired garments (note my favourite new pink overalls) which will be launching this Winter.

Dahlias have landed!!!

I repeat! The dahlias have landed!!!! My gateway flower has arrived!!!! It feels like I wait all year for the dahlias to bloom, I love them soooo much. There’s so many different forms and colours and the those big dinner plates?? They’ve got the wow factor that’s for sure. That OTT element that I just adore.

The first few are just coming through, much earlier than normal for me (which is weird because, where’s the summer been?) but they’re so very welcome. I’ve got an extra 200 tubers this season, with new varieties to trail so I’m extra, doubly excited to see them coming through. Here’s to dahlias season 🎉

Morning Flowery Gang!

I’ve been trialling loads of lilies this year - testing them to see when they bloom for me here in our west coast of scotland micro climate. Testing the size of the blooms, scent, how long they last in the vase and to see the colours with my very own eyeballs so I can assess how those colours will fit into my mini colour stories.

These calla lilies, cut this morning are something else!! Rich, dark, lustrous and so structural, throwing out some shapes! Always on the hunt for black flowers to add contrast and depth to arrangements and these are ticking the boxes 👌🏼
