On Saturday 25 November The Market Hall Carlisle will hold their annual Festive Fun Day.

Meet Santa - who will have lots of children’s treats to give away. Santa will be joined by his friends Double Trouble, stilt walker Mary the Faerie, Jason the juggling jester and Silly Gilly of Party Fun.

I would definitely recommend Martins yummy tray bakes MWD'S Bakery.

Alternatively visit his cafe in the old converted church in Cecil Street at the Aglionby Street end. Great service and yummy homemade wares.

What a truly Christmasy time I’ve had at Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery Trust today. All of the families and staff were very welcoming. It was great fun painting Christmas themed faces. Tullie House are running more Christmas events for the children next weekend so give them a call and book your slot to see Santa 🎅🏼.

For those little kiddlywinks who are wondering if Silly Gilly is back to her party fun? Yes, she is! Her repertoire is limited to face painting and balloon modelling for the near future. Unfortunately she had to sell her party van so she doesn’t have space for her magic show in her party car 🚗.

The last time I was in this room, I was playing table tennis. This was where I spent my first school trip away from home when I was 11. This used to be Glaramara Youth Hostel in Borrowdale near Keswick. Now it’s a lovely place to visit and stay. This was the best scone I’ve eaten in a long time plus a view to die for after a lovely walk around Derwentwater.
