My home town was Cleveleys and I learnt to dance at The Babs Dawson Academy.
Jean Preston was my inspirational teacher.
I had the opportunity to dance a Summer Season at the Blackpool Tower.
Known as the Childrens Tower Ballet we were all teenagers!
Happy memories.
I loved the 1p slot machines. I miss them!

Last night I taught the ballet polka. A challenging rhythm.
At 7.15pm cries of “Oh no, I’ll never learn that.”
The result at 7.55pm, what an achievement! Well done.
My enchainment included spring points, pas de chats, jete derrière and a pas de bouree under!
Learning to dance is SOOOO relaxing, you cannot think of anything else for an hour!
We leave our worries at the door as we arrive and feel refreshed at 8pm.
It’s the best medicine! X###

Mime is used in Classical Ballet to communicate the essence of the story without the need to speak.
Tonight, during our Summer class Carabosse, the wicked fairy from Sleeping Beauty placed a curse on Aurora.
Lots of enthusiasm and clear mime gestures.
Next week,the Lilac Fairy dance and her reply to Carabosse’s curse!
