The Open 2025
Where do I start, wow, what a success The Open was In 2019 , held at the stunning golf course in Portrush, The weather was great up until the last day but
This competition brought forward golfing stars of the future against the golfing stars of the past, titans doing all they could in this pristine course to reign supreme.
The streets of Portrush where enveloped with throngs of supporters from every corner of the world waiting for the greatest show on earth to tee off, The local Caravan parks sharing their spaces with strangers, drinking beer and laughing with each other as if long lost friends had come home, eating from the barbeque, while sunning on the deck of the caravan site.
This is what added to making the 2019 Open here so special. the welcome from the local people, which was talked about in the media through out the world.
I believe that is one of the reason why it will be returning back to our shores come 2025, coming back to Royal Portrush once again, The welcome of open arms to the rest of the world, Golf and sport in general can bring people together and help them forget about their troubles even for just one day, The Open lasted 3 glorious days and let me tell you this, The barmen who bought in extra liquor that should of lasted for a week, where selling out in the first day, The restaurants where ( as we say ) " Bunged to the doors" day and night.
Even the golfing professionals where seen walking the streets of Portrush or walking along the pristine beaches that run along the coast line of Portrush.
Portrush is know for its holiday vibe, During the early 80s, a lot of the people of Northern Ireland couldn't afford foreign holidays so they invested in caravans in purpose built parks dotted around the coast line of Portrush and other coastal towns.
The caravan is still a popular form of accommodation for local holiday makers who enjoy the local attractions, mostly the North Coast Route, taking in Giants Causeway, Bushmills Whisky, Torr Head, Carrick-A Rede Rope Bridge and so much more,
The return of The 153rd Open back to Portrush in 2025 will be a greater success so If your planning on coming to witness this amazing event , I would consider booking accommodation now.
I must say that being Northern Ireland , we do not usually have tropical weather so please be advised to bring warm clothing and water proof clothing when packing.
