Been very quiet on here but that’s cause we’ve been busy having so much fun in this tiny poorly lit kitchen! Have a smattering of really bad kitchen pics from our first two week takeover at . There were unpictured arrival treats and some little pate de fruit to sweeten up paying the bill. Who says we don’t treat ya?!

Managed to squeeze in a couple of tastings this weekend before borrowing this week! It always feels a bit wrong feeding people summery salads under a very gloomy November sky but it’s so much fun meeting our couples and starting planning together!

Asado! I know, you’re sick of hearing about the pop up so now for something completely different. This beaut piece of kit, our asado BBQ, is our absolute fave and we want to take it on more adventures next summer. Whole lambs on the cross, big pieces of smoky pork belly, reverse seared slabs of rump steak, brined thighs or local fennel, tomatoes, courgettes or any other showstopping veg.

2025 summer dates are filling up already so if you’re thinking about it, give us an excuse to get the barbie on.

No you can’t eat your pudding until we’ve made some content! One of the hardships of being either of our other halves is having to put up with recipe testing. This guy was made to eat two panna cottas last night just to compare a minor difference in texture ! The one we didn’t film actually won, with the slight edge on smoothness and wobbliness.

This little cutie will be up for grabs in a couple of weeks with marsala poached pears should you not want pistachio tiramisu. I know, tough decisions. Still a handful of tables available, get in touch to book x

Bosh! Leek and dill fritters, here dressed as my wfh brunch with garlic yog, shatta and sumac. They’re up for grabs at our pop up next week (handful of tables available on Thurs and Fri) as part of a sharing picky starter, but they’d also make a sexy little canapé. Fresh, salty from a little smattering of feta, crispy on the outside and yielding and soft in the middle. Yum x

Canapés! Don’t worry, we know exactly what’s happened. You’ve had your first Christmas party invitations, and you’ve realised you’ve not had those guys round for ages and it’s definitely your turn. But you just don’t have the time to pull out all the stops? Don’t worry, we do.

Canapés and buffet for 75… 4 women in 4 hours, whacked it out the park. *Obviously* didn’t get any pics of the nibbles but mini feta & spinach borek with the smokiest matbucha featured, crab, fennel and dill crostini and the OG sesame crackers with squash purée, homemade goats curd and crispy sage all went down a treat.

Buffet was harissa roasted chicken, batata harra, cauli & chickpea salad with the best garlic yog and shatta on top, tabbouleh, baba and za’atar flatbreads. Pudding buffet was lemon possets in the lemon, rose, raspberry and pistach pavs and some salted caramel chocolate brownies so gooey they were verging on the obscene. Excuse the village hall lighting! Think clients would find it a bit much if we started bringing our own mood lighting 🕯️

A breezy stunner of a day for Harry and Adam on Saturday for our last wedding of the season! Glastonbury tor was sparkling in the sunshine and their guests enjoyed their fully veggie menu so much we’ve already had messages asking for recipes. Absolutely lovely one to round off another hella busy summer of weddings 🌞

You can catch us flipping burgs at this Sunday, which would be an excellent opportunity to talk to us about Christmas parties, NYE plans or bag a seat for our pop up at next month.

Thursday saw us returning to Harewood Forest for number 2 outta 3 of our big week in Hampshire. Becky and Louis’ guests enjoyed earl grey brined BBQ chicken, Lavs’ festival style porchetta and some delicious salads -

Crispy roast potatoes with oregano and green olives.
Charred corn fattoush with confit garlic pitta.
Harissa roasted butternut squash, whipped feta, rocket & drizzled garlic.

Last pic is the veggie option of bbq marinaded aub, caramelised onions and butters with a tommy salsa thing.

Dreamy! We’re in the full swing of things over here so please forgive us if emails take a while to get to - Monday is admin day I promise x

And saying that we are already thinking about autumn and winter fun - some excellent things in the pipeline but get in touch if you wanna eat some yummy food. It’s what we do.

Dreamy setting in harewood forest yesterday for Jo & Joe’s big day. Sharing starters followed by porchetta, crispy tatties and homemade mayo, coupla salads including amazing leaves and their baby summer leeks we BBQ’d into smoky velvety deliciousness.
Mint julep peaches with smashed up meringues and whipped cream to finish.

We don’t do it for weddings of ~80, and it is a hell of a lotta washing up, but using our vintage mismatched china makes everything look so beautiful! Who needs a table runner when you’ve got 19th century Imari plates. It also gives Lavs a very good excuse to continue hoarding and buying the 100s of bits of china we’ve got ✌️ if you want pretty plates, give us a shout. Xo

Just a few nice veg pics from last nights tasting… another fully veggie wedding we’ve got planned with Harry and Adam in October. We love catering fully veggie or vegan events! It’s so much fun making veg the centre of attention and making even the most reluctant carnivores admit that yes, lentils can be sexy! Our fave was the chargrilled aub with a super rich tahini sauce and a sumac onion & herb salad 💥

We are pretty slam dunked all summer now but have a couple of little gaps in June, so if you’re thinking about that party…

Buttery alliums are good. Shallot and leek tart tatins topped with lots of thyme, honey and tangy salty crumbly goats cheese. Eeeesshhht! Perfect addition to a buffet lunch or grazing table.

We're doing another pop up to celebrate spring! This time we're springing up in the Market House in Castle Cary right in the middle of town. There'll be a long lunch, cheap bloody marys and enough room for all ya mates and all ya fam so spread the word. There might even be some of these focaccia crostini with ricotta, tapenade and a cheeky little wild garlic gremolata. Full menu and deets to follow, see ya there x
