Calling all 2025 party people, HVB is here for you 🌿

Our diary is open and whether you’re looking for brownies for an occasion, afternoon tea with friends at your home, a wedding stack or bridal breakfast platter, a milestone birthday graze table or want to hire our Charcuterie bar or Coco the brownie wagon then we’ve well and truly got you covered.

A couple of new additions for this year is the ‘Home Graze Workshop’ where I’ll come to your home or venue and you get your friends together to create grazing platters to enjoy later that day. I provide everything you need, you just have the fizz on ice 🥂

Last year I was asked a lot about doing more traditional ‘buffets’ and whilst it wasn’t really an option due to the shop and everything else, it’s time to put an alternative on the menu, so there’ll be an option to have a much more affordable table filled with sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche, pork pies, crisps and sweet bites (I’ll still make it look damn sexy and won’t compromise on quality)and prices will start from £10pp (there will be a delivery & set up charge plus minimum numbers will apply)

It’s always unsettling going into a new year as a small business as you always wonder what will happen in these times, but the support you’ve shown HVB so far is nothing short of incredible and it’s hard to believe we celebrate 5 years this coming April 🥳

Whilst the shop is no longer part of the business any recommendations and shares of our posts to keep us going is always appreciated 🥰

Currently we are not ‘hands on working’ but you’ll pleased to know the ovens will be switching back on, on Wednesday 22nd January so keep an eye on our page for a welcome return offer 🤎

Today we closed our door to Waterlooville for the last time, it’s been an incredible 3 years here. We’ve made so many friends, we’ve built a community where people have enjoyed coming in for chats, laughter and lots of insults, some have witnessed Mr HVB and I in disagreements BUT we’ve loved it and are so glad we did it.

Thank you so much to each and every one of you who has come through the door since March 2022 and supported us, it truly means a lot 🥰

We are still working tomorrow as we are catering for an event and then Monday sees us open for collections but then that’s it. We will have our annual Christmas break and then in January clear the shop out and relocate the kitchen back to where it all began ….

2025 will see HVB still in business but just in a different way of doing things.

🎄 Christmas Collections 🎄

Collections for everything except the hot chocolate boxes and Brie wreaths are to be made on Friday and Saturday and you can pay when you pick up.

Our opening times are as follows;

Friday 10.30 ~ 4.00
Saturday 9.30 ~ 3.00

I’m usually more organised in messaging and sorting payment but I’ll be honest I haven’t had the time! Anything that’s not collected will be posted as spares for someone else to enjoy.

I’ve got a lot of messages sat in the inbox right now and I’ll get round to replying as soon as I can so please don’t think I’m ignoring you but right now I’m frantically baking and ensuring that all the orders are fulfilled on time!

We’ve supported Horndean and Clanfield Foodbank for a few years now, and instead of just dropping these off to them we were invited along today, to help pack up Christmas food hampers.

So we turned off the mixers and the ovens and popped out for a couple of hours this afternoon to give a hand alongside some other fabulous volunteers. It was amazing to see the generosity from the local community in order to help others this festive season.

We are now gearing up for the busiest week of the HVB calendar thanks to all your Christmas orders, plus it’s our last trading week ever in the shop as we close our doors to Waterlooville for the final time on Saturday.

Christmas orders always take priority and whilst there will be bakes on the counter when we open at the end of the week, all I can do is try my best to ensure there’s enough. It’s only me who bakes the brownies and Mr HVB who deals with the cookie pie side.

All Christmas orders are to be collected please on either Friday or Saturday, for those whom have ordered the hot chocolate boxes for Christmas Eve then this is for collection on Monday 23rd (the shop will be closed on Monday and is purely for pick up only, see times below)

This week also is our busiest time for Festive Afternoon Teas so unfortunately on all 3 days after midday there will be no seating available as we have bookings throughout the afternoons ~ huge thanks to everyone who has been in and enjoyed one so far.

Our opening times for the week ahead are as follows:

Thursday 19th 10.30 ~ 4.00
Friday 20th 10.30 ~ 4.00
Saturday 21st 9.30 ~ 3.00
Sunday 22nd Closed
Monday 23rd 9.30 ~ 12.30 (collection of the Christmas Eve boxes only)

Stormy Saturdays mean a lot of people don’t venture out (to be honest I’d be the same if I wasn’t working) however, we are then faced with an awful lot of bakes left!

I’m going to give it a couple of hours and see how the counter is looking and we then may start offering deliveries from around midday, so do keep an eye out as I’ll post a lot earlier today.

Our last festive workshop last night, and these 10 ladies (and a little elf) arrived full of enthusiasm and made some gorgeous wreaths. Thank you all for coming.

Jo TwistedTwig and I have loved our few years working together and we’ve spoke about still doing workshops next year though we’ll need to hire a venue, so we’ll have a think 🤍

Earlier today we catered for a family who came together with friends to Celebrate the Lives of 2 very special people.

Honestly, it’s an enormous privilege to be asked to cater for such an occasion and we hope that you all shared wonderful memories together 😇 🕊️

This Thursday the Christmas Lights are being switched on in the precinct and many of the local businesses are staying open until 7pm (including us) so therefore we’ll be opening at a later time of 12.30pm

There’s a host of people behind the scenes doing their absolute best to bring events into the town, and as we’ve always said you either use it or lose it.

If you’re in town later on in the day do pop in and see us for treats.
