Doing work I love is such a gift. People sometimes find it strange that I love singing at funerals and celebration of life events but they are such a beautiful part of my work. I get to help shape a truly significant moment in people’s lives. All of those significant events in life like Birthdays, Anniversaries, weddings and yes, end of life events that mark an important occasion have so much meaning in them. It's a privilege and honour to sing at them. Don't get me wrong, I love singing at festivals and community events too and my own gigs but the personal aspect of these significant events gives me a different kind of fulfilment.

Note From Aneesa Chaudhry
At Brighton funeral music I take pride in looking after you and helping you to create a beautiful day with songs that you have chosen. There is so much sadness in losing someone you love and some of you will have told a friend or family member what you want at the funeral, wake or memorial but some of you haven’t. I want you to feel empowered and supported in making your day what you want it to be and my role is to ensure that it is done with the utmost care, beauty and love at one of the hardest moments in your life. As a professional singer I have had the pleasure of performing many wonderful concerts and always feel as though my job has been done well if I have moved someone, be it to help them laugh or cry or simply have a good time. I love singing at funerals, wakes and memorials and find this to be very rewarding work. As my aim in life is to contribute and make a positive difference to people’s lives so singing on these occasions resonates very significantly with me. Talking about death needn’t be taboo. You are welcome to visit me or I can come to you and we can talk about songs you love over a cup of tea or G&T! Either way, by the end of it, you will be in control over the songs sung on a very significant day.

What a soulful nourishing singing filled weekend. I loved singing at the Joni Mitchell celebration at Ironworks Studios Brighton on Friday. There's a DIVAS gig on Saturday. Grab your tickets now. There will be some fabulous singers to entertain you!

Then on Saturday I sang at a fabulous 80th Birthday in Highbury & Islington, London with lots of very stylish le****ns! I loved it. Do they know how to party!!!

And finally yesterday Rainbow Chorus sang at The Coast Is Q***r Festival, surprising everyone with a flashmob and performance at the closing ceremony.

Life is busy but full and Autumn is upon us! Happy days!

Stage 1 - complete! My fave Hungarian barber - hair dresser Nagy Tímea. She ALWAYS tells me how it is, the truth and I love her for it! I’m totally like the mammoth in Ice Age (2 was it?)… who thinks it’s a Squirrel! In my head I look like Liza Minnelli, ok more like PiNK but listening to Thunder Dragons in the barbers it becomes real! I am a rock star/ punk / super hero! 😂 Now I’m awake and getting so excited. Thank you for the love and face and head therapy Timi. There is no one like you! Stage 2 next. Dropping off cases with gear & outfits for Rainbow Chorus concerts and ANEESA’s CHOIR-I- OKE workshops. Taking my cool pink jacket to kind choir buddies Kezia Bibby-Jones & Bobalina Bibby-Jones so I can enjoy the train trip down! Hand in Hand Festival, Bristol 2024 are you ready?!!! Mwah 😁

PRIDE WEEK has begun here in sunny Brighton! The Ledward Centre are doing a fundraiser on Thursday and every penny will help them finally getting a much needed accessible toilet upstairs.

You'll be entertained by some rather fabulous Divas, Jennie Castell - Vocalist, Hannah Brackenbury, Billie Gold and a legend of a host, Zoe Lyons and small choir of women especially for the night!

This ones for SINGERS in CHOIRS

There's a fantastic opportunity to sing in the rather fabulous women's choir that's performing at the DIVAS Fundraiser gig for The Ledward Centre as part of the PRIDE celebrations on Thurs 1 August. Anyone who identifies as a woman can take part.

The gig is at 19:30 at Ironworks Studios Brighton with Divas Jennie Castell, Hannah Brackenbury, Billie Gold and yours truly!

Some of you may already know the choral arrangements of the songs and there will be a rehearsal workshop on the day itself from 1-4pm inside The Ledward Centre. Sheet music and voice parts available.

Working my little socks off during concert season, ready for next term. Enjoying myself but this one's is intense! Brace yourselves though my lovely choirs... this choral arrangement's going to require some serious, focussed deep breathing for tuning and for you to get all of your notes out, a very good mouth shape, and some seriously speedy tongue work! - I'm still working out whether La La La's or Da Da Da's are easiest to sing super fast!

Can't wait for this one to have breath sung into it by one of my. It's really cool if I do say so myself.... but who's it going be to be for?!!!

We are delighted to announce following the amazing success last year performing Duke Ellington's Sacred Concert in Brighton that we a bring it to our home town this year Saturday 8th June, 7.30pm. will be finished in time to walk to the station for last train connections to London, Chichester, Portsmouth and Brighton.
As you will see from this review https://thelatest.co.uk/.../praise-god-dance-the-phoenix.../ this is a very unique performance blending the exuberance of Big Band sound with the reverence of church choral music, and joy of dance as the tap dancer is not just dancing to the music, but part of the music.
